I am selling my brand new and unused UpRev that I ordered few months ago and unfortunately with the wedding coming to my and my eventual wife's way, I need to start making sacrifice and that means getting rid of the UpRev.

I paid 600 bucks so my loss is your gain. Please message me if you are seriously interested. I'm no dishonest seller nor a person looking for an opportunity to screw someone over.

Thanks for reading and happy Thursday...

Hey John, hope I don't come off sounding like a big ol ahole ,,,, Install your UpRev you will be sacrificing plenty after you tie the knot. 39 years of marriage here , she will get over it,,,,,,,enjoy your ride!

I've only been married one and a half years and I'd give the same advice.

Don't sell it. Do not. Nope. Don't.

Unfortunately with Uprev there is no way to know if it was used or not, there are no tunes that come on the cable, and all tuning is done according the original purchaser. There are 3 parts to the Uprev tune: the cable, the software license, and the actual tuning. The cable and license are generic and can be passed around and resold as many times as you want, the tuning is the customized rom files that we make for each truck.

I am not doubting or disputing that Johnnyjohn did not use it, but Uprev is not a plug n play generic programmer and free tunes do NOT transfer to a new owner when you choose to sell it.

OP if you want to just hold on to it until after the wedding we can tune your truck then... I am sorry that you bought this and then after 6 months want to spend the money on something else but that doesn't change anything.

Just like all the stuff that you buy that has a "lifetime warranty"... for the original purchaser.

Thanks seymore!

Apologies if I'm just being dense here (I'm new to the ECU tuning thing) but, if the UpRev has in fact not been plugged in to his vehicle are there any customized tuning files associated with the product yet? Or does that not occur until the cable is actually plugged in to a particular vehicle? What I'm asking is is the product still essentially "brand new" until it is plugged in, or is it given a generic tune before the product is actually sent to the original purchaser? If the latter is the case, what is the cost to simply buy a new set of tunes for someone who purchases it used, since the cable and license will transfer from buyer to buyer?

[I hope this isn't too off topic. I am interested in the unit but am just seeking clarification before I decide. At the very least, enjoy the free bumps!]

Think the cost would be $150 or something like that to get tunes. I talked to Seymore about tuning my Maxima and even if I unmarried the cable from my Titan (which I would have to do since I only have 1 license) it would still be extra to make tunes for the Maxima.

Sounds like the tunes aren't transferable, not sure why not if the fee was paid.
The tunes are part of that I believe but I'm not a tuner, seems unreasonable, but I'll read on to find out why...
read the previous post, it tells you all about it, no need to read any further than the last post

Man I still don't get it this *sigh*

Venting my feeling here:

I just want to sell it already as I won't be keeping my truck. I don't plan to use it and I don't even need it after owning it for two years (I had been driving no more than 7k miles since I bought it.)

At this time, I'm selling the truck and the UpRev. I won't use the eventual money for my future wedding; I'll just put it in my saving account and be done with it.

Im sorry for saying this but my investment with the truck has had been a waste sadly. I mean it is practical and it really does the job but it just NOT for me. Even if I want to keep it, it would cost me more money to do so in regards to future, maintenance, registration, full tank of fuel that only last me 300 miles, insurance and unforeseeable repair. I want to prevent myself from going there therefore I am officially selling my truck, my bed cover (or tonneau cover whatever it called), and yes, this UpRev.

Im no truck guy. I'm a white collar career entry level guy who's totally fine with one daily economical reliable beater car. And I am still in love with my "wifey" faithfully.

Now, Let see if this say about my character: I used to own 2001 frontier supercharged crew cab and boy it was the worst truck; gas hog and I cannot believed I spent ~3k dollars in repair and 1-2 months later I sold after (owning for 5 months) for less money. Lesson learned and I admit I was NOT financially wise and I wish I was as I know you all were and still are at this point.

Venting ends.

Venting begins:

Well this is interesting

I won't use the eventual money for my future wedding; I'll just put it in my saving account and be done with it.
Hard to trust people's word online when this kind of thing happens.

And I am still in love with my "wifey" faithfully.
I thought you needed the money for a wedding...

Now, Let see if this say about my character:

I think you guys are being pretty rough on the guy. He came for help and it shouldn't really matter why he wants to sell the uprev or the truck as that is a personal decision based on his needs. Life happens and things change, my advice is don't listen to the people that are trying to beat you down here. Do what's best for your life. Internet is huge I'm sure if you dig a little bit you can get someone to help you figure out the uprev and maybe sell it with the truck. I've been thinking of tuning my truck as I would like to get a little more out of it and maybe some fuel economy, but I have to tell you that just from this thread, I am completely turned off by the uprev. It would seem the only interest to uprev is the money not the satisfaction of the customers. Maybe uprev is the best and it's worth what seems to be a hassle, I don't know, but what I do know is software is everywhere and if you have something proprietary there is always someone who can get around that, ask Apple. Apple went about it differently though it took all those ideas that people had when they modified their software (jail broke the phone) and made a more appealing product.

Thanks for understanding. I'm no bot nor troll; I'm real. My English reading comprehension skill isn't great in which is why I was struggling to understand Seymour. But I do appreciate your input even though it was rough.

The UpRev is great from what I have had heard and I really believe that. (Seymour is nice and he is knowledgable about his product and the Titan. Ultimately I have a lot of respect for him as I absolutely have nothing against him). Unfortunately, it just not for me. (I'm sure others will benefit it a lot more especially when it never been used and I'm selling it less than what I had paid for; my loss is the buyer biggest gain)

Anyways, the UpRev is still for sale and no I'm not trying to make a profit. I just don't want it lying on the ground and I don't even want to see it anymore. I'll be happy to give it a good home, really.

The issue with him selling it is that he'll be losing so much money just to make it worth it to anyone else. He'd have to sell it for around $350-400 even though it's brand new and hasn't ever been used. If he's now deciding to sell the truck that's one thing, but if he was just selling the UpRev before and trying to get someone to pay $600 he'd be screwing them over. I know buying through seymore he'll give you about the best pricing you can find for a brand new kit and lifetime tuning, plus customer support that you're most likely not even going to come close to when tuning through UpRev.

He's already answered all the questions. The truck's not worth it to him, so dunno why he got UpRev in the first place.

To OP: You won't get anyone to pay $600 for it. The numbers I listed earlier are what you might get because the buyer then has to pay over a hundred dollars just to get tunes for his truck. THAT'S the reason people were telling you to keep it. You basically spent $200 to have a cable sitting on your shelf. GLWS.

I hear ya. Life happens. There were quite a few times when I was in college and I was spending more on gas than I was on food and I considered selling the truck.

I can understand where the OP would be frustrated because Seymour never even tuned his truck once so obviously there wouldn't be any transferable tunes.
If the Uprev is unused it's no different then Seymour selling it to the next guy.
That being said I can understand not trusting someone over the net. But there were no tuning provided by Seymour so why couldn't it transfer over.
Either good luck with the sale

It's the same as buying a brand new exhaust or whatever and never installing it, still in the plastic. You were not the original owner and even though it was brand new, you buy it from the original, the warranty does not carry over to you. I just went through the same situation with Bushwacker. It sucks but it is what it is and that's how the manufacturers operate.

Yes I did compare a tuner to an iPhone it just a small computer. There isn't any technological miracle inside that uprev. As matter of fact I would bet it's the exact opposite. By no means am I bashing a product I know nothing about and only what it can do. With that being said I never looked for files related to tuning my truck, but in case you haven't noticed you can find anything you can imagine online. I don't endorse illegal file sharing however I think open source is the way to go. Uprev is running a business and I am no one to throw stones at anybody making money. If it is the best maybe I will look into getting one. I've spent countless hundreds of dollars maybe thousands on things I either didn't use enough or at all. All I was saying is it's unfortunate for him that he lost money and trying to recoup what he could not knowing enough about it, he probably asked too much. What's the retail on one with a tune for a Titan?

Osiris - Standard - Engine Management - Store

Additional license for multiple vehicles - $300

Additional tunes (for someone buying a used cable) - $250

From what I understand from that you only get 3 adjustments and those tunes expire 1 year after purchase. May take up to two weeks to get a tune once you submit data logs.

I've had 10+ tunes as well as next day, sometimes same day, tunes along product support and advice from Cajun. Every 1-2 months I send seymore data logs just to make sure everything is running correctly and smoothly. If it is he tells me, if it needs a tweak he sends me a new tune.
