Going in for oil change, maybe brakes

I'm going in the Saturday for my complimentary oil change and I have a few other little things to get fixed like squeaky rear leafs and the dreaded brake dust. I'm getting some brake judder so I think I need to have them done. The dealership said over the phone that they have parts on order for alot of people and that Nissan is behind so I may have to wait for a while if I need it done. Anybody else heard this? If they can't do it for me I'm gonna call around to all the Nissan dealers in the area until I find one with parts I guess. Unless nobody has parts. Oh and can I even get the parts replaced since it is my first time with the judder or do they HAVE to turn the rotors and all that crap three times first. I really hope not. I don't have the time to go in another 2 times to fix my BRAND NEW $31k truck. That would be ridiculous not too mention its a saftey issue having juddering brakes that shake the truck everytime you want to stop. Also any tips for getting the brake job, let me know.

the 3 time visit before replacement is because there was a shortage of brake kits. it would delay the backorders. out here in so cal I got my brakes done the 2nd time cause they had to do the process that way.

The judder is due to your disc being too small for your truck. The discs are the same as what's on the Xterra and Frontier. Nissan told me that the heat doesn't dissipate well and cause the extra brake dust. This causes your disc to overheat thus causing the rotor needing to be turned. Nissan is coming out with a new "kit". Which really means: larger discs that can handle the weight of the truck.

Turning the rotor is only a temp fix until they can put on the kit. BTW, it's not a recall and you have to keep mentioning it to your service dept and they will square you away. At least that's what my Service Dept is going to do for me.

And of course there is a waiting list of around 30-40 people for brake parts. Looks like I'm gonna have to wait for a while. That really sucks. They told me to come in on Saturday @ 9am so I did. I got there and they were too full and said it would be 2-3 hrs for an oil change and they couldn't even look at my other warrenty stuff. I have to go back on Monday. Such a pain in the ***.

Well it looks like I got lucky. I haven't had the rotors turned even once and the service dept. said that they had a brake kit in so they would just go ahead and put it on. That way I wouldn't have to come back. I'm getting some mobile 1 put in it and the brakes done and the squeaky rear leafs done all at once. I should be picking it up any time now. I'm really happy about this! I'm still trying to figure out if my A/C is as cold as it should be or if there's an issue with it. It seems like other cars have really ICE cold A/C and mine isn't as cold. Its not just when stopped or anything though, its all the time, and its definitally colder than just the fan. I don't know. I also might get some of the in-cabin microfilters. Do they replace them for free with a full service oil change @ the dealer? Well I can't wait for my good brakes!

make sure you're pulling cabin air and not outside air for you ac. That can make a big difference in the temps. Glad to hear you're getting brakes, i need to call my dealer. Hope i'm as lucky.
