How much would you pay for Rock Sliders?

Hello fellow Titan owners,

I decided that the next modification to my 2nd gen non XD Titan will be a hybrid rock sliders/running boards. I'm not going hardcore rock crawling with my Titan but I would like some protection for my rocker panels (well, there's no rocker panels anymore since the doors fully goes down the body). I found that Rocky Road Outfitters in Utah has 4 different types of rock sliders for the non XD's with prices from $500 to $800 plus shipping. Rocky Road's rock sliders can be bolted-on but you do need to drill holes in the frame in order to bolt the sliders on.

I went to a local off road fabrication shop and the owner quoted me $1,600 for fabrication and installation (welded on) of rock sliders of my design. I know $1,600 is a huge amount of money for rock sliders but the shops main area of expertise is building rock crawlers so there's little to no doubt that the rock sliders they're going to fabricate will be over-built for my purposes. The owner was kind enough to show me around his shop and the work that they do and the craftsmanship is top notch, he's even got a few professional athletes as clients. I've got a few more fabrication shops to visit and get some quotes from but I was wondering how much would you folks spend on legit rock sliders?

Thanks,
Ross

Def not $1600, regardless of quality...the $500-$800 range for powder coated sliders. Does suck there isnt really a great option now. I did see dealer materials last fall that showed rock sliders available in 2019 but have seen no sign of them anywhere since.

I just installed my rock sliders from Rocky Road Outfitters about 3 weeks ago. The sliders are pretty solidly built but installing them took a good 4 hours to do, measure twice, cut once kinda deal. Passenger side: 3 hours to mock up, measure and drill. Driver side: 1 hour to mock up, measure and drill. Also, having the right tools helped a lot.

I wonder the same thing...I love the looks of these but really don't want to drill into the frame. Not super worried about figuring out what to do for now, the OEM boards will be fine for a while and my truck is basically brand new at this point
