How did everyone know this was the actuator to replace? I can see another one on the passenger side just after the blower? I've got a 2013 Nissan Titan and all modes work except floor vents AND its winter time in Edmonton - feet are sooo coooold. When I select floor mode it moves to floor but then after 5 seconds it automatically starts blowing full on defrost, but the mode hasn't changed.

I also experienced the horrible clicking or grinding upon vehicle startup for a while. But then one day I noticed that after selecting floor mode it went full blast to defrost - even more than defrost mode.

Help - is this the actuator I need to replace?

These sites suggests 3 different actuators:
https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...actuator,10721
https://www.napacanada.com/en/search...rer=vehicleAdd

And this site shows 3 of the same model actuators in different places and a 4th of a different model:
https://www.autopartscheaper.com/pro...actuator-motor

Thanks

So I followed Joshua's description in post #149 and replaced the lower driver side actuator (mode door) and it did the exact same thing. I can manualy open the door and get air to come out to the feet. But both my actuators (new and old) continually spin the door closed no matter what mode I select. Makes me think there is a computer problem...

HELP??

I'm trying to order parts for a 2005 actuator replacement and Courtesy Parts is telling me the 2005 has a different part than the 2004 or 2006. Can someone confirm for me?

27743-ZP00A $23 at NissanPartsDeal this is the one (of three) on my 05. My bad one was the temp door behind the glove box. It CAN be done without pulling the dash if you remove the cover on top of the AC condenser where the lines come in and don't mind cutting out one metal brace, you can get your hand in there. The timing, position of the door and actuator must be in sync when reassembling. Working through the glove box, it was hard to see, mostly by feel. If you can, get the phone up in there and take pictures as you disassemble it. Good Luck

Thanks everyone, just did the lower and upper driver side actuator. Lower took less than 10min and the upper took about an hour and a half, but as with everything if it did the upper again i could do it in half an hour :)

I’ve read thru the posts and I couldn’t find any info on my issue

I removed the blend actuator using the ZEN method. Before installing the new actuator I plugged it in and turned my temp dial and noticed the actuator not corresponding. It seemed random with no correlation to the temp dial. Then, I plugged in the old actuator which was doing the same thing.

I decided to install the new actuator. Once installed (but not plugged in) I had heat. Once I plugged the actuator in I’m back to square one...I have AC but no heat.

At the moment my confusion is coming from the actuator not responding to my controls. Note: I did not pay attention to control position when removing old actuator.

Any advice?

Try to find wiring diagrams. The control knob may go through a module before getting command to actuator.

Any idea where I can find that?

I just took it back apart. Plugged actuator in without it mounted. Every 30 seconds it rotates 360 in the same direction While leaving temp dial all the way cold

Not sure how I fixed the problem, but I took everything apart and put it back together. It seems to be working correctly.
The only adjustment I made was I slightly backed out the screw that holds the white arm/lever in place. I’m thinking maybe I had it too tight and it wasn’t allowing the actuator to move freely. I still had no correlation between the actuator and the control before I mounted the actuator. Once mounted it magically started responding to the control. I’m still confused, but it’s working...for now. Thanks for your help. Now I’m on to a front end rebuild. 2011 pro4x with 175k.

when dealing with electrical/mechanical things that's often how it works, just take apart and put together, and woola. Just hope it keeps working, Nissans these days dont give me a lot of confidence. Wont be buying another one, but i will keep the one one i have working. Have replaced many parts on my truck that I would consider premature, but its what i got! Speaking of front end, the factory springs are complete junk, recommend the moog 2008 and up 4x4 springs

I’m planning on using reusing my springs unless that’s a big no no.

Right now I’m trying to hunt down the correct control arms, tie rods, etc

Your springs may be fine, I think the newer 4x4 models had better springs. Mine were shot, and it was obvious, the truck would nose dive in turns

2004 LE Offroad Crew Cab and I'm experiencing the clicking noise when using the far right selector knob (mode selector). If I'm correct, this is the actuator located on the passenger side?

I've seen the YouTube video on how to change the two driver side actuators, are there directions or a video for the passenger side?

My memory not the greatest, but i think the mode selector knob clicking is the drivers-side actuator

Mine either! I've browsed through this posting and I'm sure it's here somewhere, just wanted to get a fast reply rather than have to read through everything again. Hopefully someone else has a better memory than we do lol

Haha. Well ive changed two of them, in two different vehicles, an 04 armada and an 06 titan, and im pretty sure the mode selector was the culprit, and it was fortunately the easier actuator to access, drivers side

I need some help! The old actuator has is different from the new one that was supposed to replace it. Old is on the left and new is on the right. My truck is a 2004 and this is the actuator behind the panel in the driver side footwell. Not sure what PN to order now and I’m confused looking through all the responses.
