Lots of Rubbing??

I got my AKUZA 323 RIGID wheels in today and mounted them on 325/60/18 nittos....looks great but all kinds of rubbing. I have the 2" PRG mini lift on my CC 4X4.. The wheel specs are exactly the same as the Moto Metal 951..18x9with -12 offset, and everyone said that that set up fit....I thought. Anyways, good thing I work at Discount Tire, and can send stuff back. We haven't installed this fitment at our shop before, but I told the guys that it has been done and would fit. We do alot of trimming to make oversize tires fit, but this calls for a lot of notching on the rear lower metal fender lip. But I loved the way it looked and might get to trimmin!

Do yall know of a reason why the two wheels could have the same specs and one not work?

The backspacing is 4.53" on the Akuza.....I'm not sure what the 951 is, but i though with the same size wheel, and offset that the backspacing is the same.

A 9" wide wheel can not have a 4.53" backspace "and" a -12mm offset. A 4.5" back space would be a 0 offset, and a -12mm offset would be a 4" backspace.

Let me see if I can explain this. Backspacing and offset are two different ways of figuring the same info. If you have two wheels that are the same size, example 18x9, if they both have a -12 offset, then they will both have the same back spacing. Which for that wheel would be a 4" back space. That is exactly why they are rubbing. Now lets say that one wheel is 9.5" wide, not 9". If they both have a -12mm offset than the 9.5" wide wheel would have a 4.25 backspace. The formula stays the same. If the same width wheel has the same offset, then it will have the same backspacing. The Titan is recommended to have a 5" backspace. My wheels are 20x9 with a +12mm offset. That gives them a 5" backspace. See what I'm saying?

Edit: see my next post down. I had my numbers mixed up. :)

Based on the info in that link, that means my backspace numbers are all off by about a 1/2". But the idea is what I was after. lol I have never added the "+1 to the rim width" so that means that that your -12mm wheels are in fact 4.53 offset. But the point I was trying to make is that if the other wheels are 9" wide with a -12mm offset, then they too will be 4.53 offset. :)

That is exactly why I am puzzled that the Moto Metals work and these wont, and they both have the same deminsions.
someone has got to be out of spec.

one of the reason i went with helomaxx is they claim 5.75" of backspacing... rancho claims that 35" tires will work with their lift kit if you have 6" of backspacing. But this was not good enough for me... I pm'd a lot of members on this board and the other board asking about the rancho and helomaxx to confirm.

life would be so much easier if everthing could just bolt in. :upsidedow

no i do not have the sensors in them. The helomaxx opening was too small. sucks I can't turn off that light. i'm about to take about my dash apart just so I can find that bulb and take it out... actually that will be my next question on this forum. "need instructions on taking out the bulb for tire pressure monitor sensor"
