I recently bought one off Amazon for my '21 XD PR and it was plug and play.

It does provide a brighter, slightly clearer picture over the stock camera. It's not a huge difference, but enough that it allows me to back of and hitch our travel trailer without having to get out of the truck now. The new camera isn't as fish-eyed as the factory was.

I think it's as good as it gets with the factory display. It still sucks and is pathetic for a $60k+ vehicle built now a days.....

Thank you! Glad to hear that it works in later years as well. Do you know how the improvement is at night? The stock is almost unusable in the dark.

 

So is this a swap that you do? I have very much wanted to change the camera as well as it is extremely bad quality, does this go into the stock spot and still work through the stock head unit as normal?

Also does this work for non-XD?

After several hook-ups to our travel trailer I pretty much decided that it didn't really offer any improvement over the factory camera on my '21 XD, so I swapped back to the factory camera.

The factory camera sucks too, but I can slightly see the hitch better, very slightly......
