Hey guys I just wanted to get a definitive answer about how to keep cruise control if I swap from 2.94 gear to 3.36 gear. I purchased a set of big tow gears from another member on here and will be installing it along with a truetrac and I have been reading a ton of threads on this with no real clear cut answer. I have an 07 nissan titan xe and read one thread that a guy installed the big tow gears on his lifted truck with bigger tires and the cruise still worked. I have 35" tires on my truck and was wondering if maybe with the slower rotation of the tires due to 35's and adding the lower gear it was still within a parameter for the cruise to work. However not working on stock tire titans due to smaller tire size. I have read that the dealership can reflash however has anyone actually had their truck reflashed at a dealership? Then I have seen people reflashing with uprev, and I don't know how exactly that works either. Any help would be much appreciated guys.

Here is my question about this though. Last time I was at the Nissan dealership asking about reflashing my truck to 4x4 in 08 (tech told me he had reflashed a 2wd to 4wd to get rid of the WOT restriction) he said he could but when he went into his database there was no update provision for the 06-08 titans at the time. So I am wondering if they have it now?

Well just got off the phone with the technician at nissan and he says he would like to know how to reflash the truck to big tow. The laptop he says only pulls up a reflash for years 04-05 not 06-up, so if it can be done can someone that has had it done please tell me so that I can do this. I also had him look me up a ecu for a 07 xe with big tow package and its gonna be 600 bucks but he will do it for 480. Damn that is still alot of money.

Find another truck identical to your but with big tow. get them to either give you the vin & you can call nissan parts to get the ECU# or if they can find out for you. At leaste that is what I did.

UPREV can do it but its gonna cost 300.00 to do it.:crying: Still nobody has come forward that has actually had the dealership do it to their truck and IF they have was it newer than 06. Starting to sound like the reflash at the dealership is a urban legend, everybody talks about it being done but has anyone actually done it themselves.

Anyhow going from 2.94 to 3.36 with 35's may workout just fine. If it does great if it does not then time to....

1. reflash ECU via UpRev
2. buy second ECU that matches the truck specs for 07 BT, then have Nissan map the NATS and test to see if that works.

"1" I know works. Save some cash send ECU ti UpRev or find a local UpRev tuner and have them reflash for perhaps a license fee and thier time.

Thanks for the response RB I think the biggest misconception is that everyone is just saying have the dealer reflash and unfortunately it is not that simple or cheap. Like I said the ecu is over 600 dollars and my guy will hook me up for 480 but that is still too much of a chunk of change to just see if it will work. I think this should be a sticky due to someone like me reading all the threads thinking I could just go to the dealership and have them reflash a big tow tune. Then getting ready to drop the hammer only to find out it's never just that simple and having to shell out another 300 bucks.

Guess I am gonna have to do it and cross my fingers and hope the larger diameter of the tires will compensate with the lower gear ratio and "even out" the two working together.
