hello all, i've finally gotten the mythical new brake fix installed yesterday and i just picked it up this morning. holy crap is their a significant difference in brake feel, most 05 titan owners are probably saying "huh"... well let me tell ya this new brake kit has also eliminated the mushy brake feel most have experienced. the brakes feel solid and the braking is now instantaneous as where before it felt like the brake pedal was going to go through the floor before you stopped. the great thing is Nissan has, at least for me and a few hundred others, stepped up and taken action. i've got the new front brake kit, plus the rear rotors were lathed and the rear pads replaced. so in essence i literally have new rotors, pads, etc up front with the rears refreshed for a 0 out of pocket expense, oh and don't forget the rental/loaner car i was given for the duration of the replacement. i'm stoked and couldn't be happier now!!! i hope that everyone with my same problems gets their's taken care of and as efficiently as i have been by my service advisor and Nissan. so for all of you that claim your brakes are still fine on your 04s just know that Nissan has stepped up and can have your brakes feeling better than the 1st day you drove off the dealer lot!!! here's a scan of my receipt with all the part #s for comparison sake...

Wow. Thanks. I'm going to use the information from this forum..including your proof that your dealer supplied the fix, to get mine done. I'm not expecting any probs from the dealer, but just in case...

Congrats!

I am happy they are finally finding a way to control this beast of a truck. This brake problem was one way to run the big 3 off the road. Hope everyone will be able to cash in before 35k. Oh..I think I should get my gas gauge checked too,it seems to be stuck on "E". Is that normal?

In case nobody else knows what he means, here's the rest of it:

Jenny Jenny who can I turn to,
you give something that I can hold on to,
I know you think that I'm like the others before,
I saw your name and number on the wall.

(Chorus)
Jenny I've got your number,
I'm gonna make you mine,
Jenny don't change your number: 8675309
8675309(3x)

Jenny Jenny your the girl for me,
you don't know me but you make me so happy,
I tried to call you before but I lost my nerve,
I tried my imagination but I was disturbed

(Chorus)

I got it, I got it, I've got your number on the wall
I got it, I got it, for a good time, good a good time call.

btw, been driving all day - i'd say over a 120 miles total and the brakes are just amazing, there's no lag time... the pedal feel is seriously different in an awesome -BAMM!!- kinda way. i'm having to get used to this feel from the old mushy feel... i love it so far, i'll continue to post hourly updates on my brakes

Unfortunately 37L1 you are showing your age (and mine) when you remember that tune.....isn't it only played on that "Oldies" radio now??? Now who remembers the cheesy video that went with it???? :futwice: :futwice:

Yep, you know you're getting old when your favorite songs are played on Oldies radio. I love that Tutone song and I play the CD in my truck all the time. I think it's one of those songs that's meant to be played LOUD! Still sounds great.

I just put on the stillen - brake pros cross-drilled rotors & stillen recommended pads. I have the SS lines and Dot 4 fluid. My brakes are great at the moment. I just hope they stay that way. That "mushy pedal to the floor" feeling sucks. I was thankful for how well my brakes were working on the hghwy tonight when a U-Haul truck rear ended a Suburban a few cars in front of me.

Regarding the multiple fixes for judder, I hope they are looking at the pistons in the front caliper. I have seen posts where the DIYers have found cracked pistons after experiencing the judder. I don't recall seeing any posts where the dealer replaced (or rebuilt) calipers in connection with the judder fix.

Getting the final brake fix

At 18,000 miles I finally got the offical brake fix yesterday. I've taken the Titan in twice previously and got the temp fix, but this time they sent for parts and did the job right. I took the truck in at 0900 and had it back by 1300, washed and vacumed too. But there was no loaner offered.
My brakes really didn't feel soft before, but they do feel a bit firmer now, and I just hope that the dreaded "Judder" is gone for good.
Where is Jenny's number written on the wall? The only one I could find there is "Roxanne".
