How many qts did you use to fill the system back up?

 

The Power steering reservoir is also new.

 

I don't know exactly. I ran extra fluid through the system to clean it. I would estimate 3 quarts in total. I've run the engine and moved the truck about 25 yards total and the reservoir is at the cold full line.

 

maybe there was a cap in the new rack that you missed so its pinched between the hose and reservoir connection?

i have seen it in aviation is why i say that. if it happens on helicopters, it can surely happen in automotive.

 

 

I solved this by getting the engine to running temp, raising the front wheels, and turning the wheels until all of the air came out. If I tried to do this with the engine off, the power steering fluid would rise and flow out of the reservoir.
