Kicking P1774 - Happened twice, 1st time would not shift outta first gear - Shut it down, started new ignition cycle, all good except SES light on - Happened again, this time went to neutral at 40mph, started new ignition cycle, again all good except SES light on - Took it to dealer, They tell me I need Transmission Control Module replaced, $900 for part, $1400 total plus tax - I reluctantly say OK fix it - Now I get a call and they say part is on back order and don't know when it will come in - Anybody gotta a fix for this other than the dealership?

I would get a second opinion.

• This is an OBD-II self-diagnostic item.
• Diagnostic trouble code “P1774 LC/B SOLENOID FNCT” with CONSULT-III is detected under the following
conditions.
- When TCM detects that actual gear ratio is irregular, and relation between gear position and condition of
ATF pressure switch 2 is irregular during depressing accelerator pedal. (Other than during shift change)
- When TCM detects that relation between gear position and condition of ATF pressure switch 2 is irregular
during releasing accelerator pedal. (Other than during shift change)
Possible Cause INFOID:0000000003787321
• Harness or connectors
(The solenoid and switch circuits are open or shorted.)
• Low coast brake solenoid valve
• ATF pressure switch 2

Sorry man. They ended up changing the filter and fluid on mine and the problem cleared up for the time being. I told them to order the part and call me when it was in. They said would be about 3 months. At about 4 months I called them and was told didn't know when would get part, maybe never. I never heard back and it never did it again. That was 8 years ago. I still have the truck and to this day I don't know what was really wrong with it. Based on the reply above I think it may have been a loose connection????????????
