I was at Town Fair Tire Recently and they said there are not many, if any Tires that will fit the stock rims. I have an SE with the stock 18"s. Does anyone know what else I could put on these rims that would give my truck a different look? If anyone has pics that would great!!! thanks for your help.

I have been looking at the BFGoodrich A/T KO's. Had them on a previous truck and really liked them.

They come in a 285/65/18 (33x11.5) which should fit just fine.

aren't those tires for offroad sizes?

Our 18" wheels are 265/70/18

If anyone can find tires that fit that size. I will forever be in your debt!

i like that look alot, but it doesn't look like it would fit... town fair said these are just a real funky size.... seeing that it costs about $180.00/per wheel i'd rather spend a little more and get something that looks a little better. again any help is appreciated!
Are you referring to the 285/65-18? That will fit. It is basically the same size that the OR package comes with on the 17" rim.

i'm referring to the 18" stock rim that comes on the standard SE without the offroad package, i'm under the belief that that rim is a 17"????

so if anyone and i mean anyone can help with this i would really really appreciate it... and if there are pictures that would be even better!!!!

I have an SE and it came with 18" wheels. Finding tires was a real :wtf:

My local Les Schwab came through for me with the answer. They know me well from all my cars and trucks... Anyway, I had been in a couple of times, and was looking at tires that would have run over $1000 for the set.

OUCH!! TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTY SIX DOLLARS A TIRE!! :fktardxpl These tires were Load Range C, but even for my motorhome, I never paid THAT much!

They got in a set of 'take-offs' from a guy who bought a new Ford at the dealership down the street, drove it in and bought some two grand plus worth of custom wheels and tires for it. (I guess he didn't think that paying $38,000 was spending enough money on it.) The 'take-offs' are Continentals and are almost exactly the same height -- just a little taller -- than the stock SE tires. The 'take-offs' are Load Range E, and still had the little nubby things on them.

AND they only cost $480 for the set installed.

Dude, you are not listening. 285/65-18 will fit both your stock wheel and your Titan with no problems!

Michelin has a Cross Terrain 265/70/18 intended for SUVs. I think its a hgwy type of tire.
Man you are right!!! I went to the Michelin website about 6 months ago and did a search by vehicle and the say they don't have an 18" tire for the Titan, but if you look at this link, they have a 265/70-18 114S tire which is the exact rating/size of the OEM's. Am I missing something? I prefer Michelins over Goodyears any day.

Learn the math - it's not hard.

265/70 = 185.5 mm sidewall - which equals 7.3 in (x2) + 18 in wheel = 32.6 in tire height (stock)

285/65 = 185.25 mm sidewall - which ... blah, blah, blah - exactly 1/2 of a mm shorter. (But 20 mm wider - almost an inch!)

I'm sure you'll notice the width, but not the height.

Great job on the calculation!

I don't know if I'd take the BF's for twice the price and have mud slung everywhere with the excess width and no flares.

I knew about the Michelin cross terrain but those are some expensive tires! I got quoted at 915.00 for the whole set...

Anyone else think I should just buy a new set of rims and tires for a different common size? Nissan, YOUR KILLING ME!

really, either route you're screwed and you'll be forced to pay the duckets for new rubber. Also to answer your earlier question, the 285/65/18 BFGs will work fine without a hitch. there's two other titantalk members that have them and love em, my only problem like everyone else's is that they cost an arm and a leg. i'm thinking of just getting the stock tires again since they are cheaper and waiting another year for tire companies to make a competent reasonably priced replacement. anyways, even if you drop to a 17" wheel you'll have to find a 17" tire that is equal or greater in tire diameter and with that comes the additional costs. i don't know which route to take either, cause - granted they are expensive those michelins rock!!!

or ya'll can be lazy like me and use my tire size calculator and see the difference from stock to new tire size...

tire size calculator
Actually, I've been using the miata site for over a year now. It does round up to the nearest number(2 digits significant past decimal point) so the 1/2mm is not represented when entering the 2 sizes, it shows them to be equal.

Just "20" bigger width

Sorry, truck's parked at the FAR end of the lot, but I do remember that they're only +20 in width over the stock size.

Hope that helps. Otherwise we'll have to look up the stock tire size on an F-250. :read:

According to TireRack and DiscountTire(.com) BFG doesn't make an AT of 33x12.5x18. The biggest they go on a 33 is11.5".
However, if you get a set of XE rims (17") you can get the MT's in a 35x12.5 and with a couple of inches of lift they will fit. I think if you get the PRG spacers the 35's will fit. That is what PRG is running on his truck.

btw, I am selling my XE wheels and tires with less than 3000 miles in case you want to do something like this:

I think that truck belongs to Tillery444. I hope he doesn't mind me posting this bada$$ pic. It looks like he had the XE wheels powder coated and then shoed them with the 35x12.5x17 BFG MT's. Looks pretty sick to me

Nitto also has that tire in a 325/60/18. It's right at 33" at 35psi off the truck. I think I'm going to have to go with the 285/60/18 in my case just to keep my gearing where I want it (I tow a lot).

EDIT: BTW, Herbpov, nice ride

I do not think the 285/60/18 is going to work. I have used the tire calculator at 1010 tires http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp and it's off about an inch in diameter. The 352/60/18 might work. My only concern with the 325 is does a tire this wide fit on the stock 18" rim and would we have to worry about rubbing?
