I have been putting off replacing the leaking axle seal in my truck. I was debaitng on doing it myself or paying the dealership since my truck is way out of warrany. WHen I called the dealership they said that my truck was the first one that they would do this service that was out of warranty so they were not sure the cost. They called back and said it was going to be $200 I figured that I was a very fair price and took it in the morning. Picked it up in the afternoon and the service manager said it was going to be a good faith repair since Nissan has been having chronic problems with this.

Good customer service in my book. Both problems I have had with this truck have been well out of the warranty period and they have been fixed free.

1st was the brake rotor warpage done free through the recall. And now this.

I just wanted to share this good piece of new and I am very satisfied with Nissan and my Titan. You don't hear too many good things on the forums so here is a change of pace.
Now if only the truck would get better than 15MPG and it would be the ultimate ride.

That's great news for you. Now go out and buy some lotto tickets. By the way, the brake issue was never ever a recall, just a TSB.

Lucky you! My dealer here is Sarasota would have charged full price and pocketed the money. BEWARE the Sarasota dealer!! There is always the Bradenton and Venice dealers that has better service! Sorry had to get that out.

Please report your seal failure. This is why we need them reported. We need a good paper trail on this chronic problem.

You guys have lucked out getting this fixed for free. I just turned 81,118 miles on my 04 Titan LE CrewCab 4x4 and both rear axle seals are blown and leaking. I had installed a PML extended capacity differential cover with snthetic fluid at about 60,000 when I figured I'd be towing soon. Now, after two trips from Southern California to Albuquerque and the seals are blown. Took it to the dealer and they quoted me $860 to replace the seals...I said thanks, but no thanks. Got any ideas how I can get this taken care of for free? I'm leaving back to Albuquerque in 2 days, for good, so will check with the dealers there.

Had mine fixed under warranty last week. Dealer in Reno noticed it and told me that it would need to be replaced in 3k miles or so. When I got back to Chicago, the dealer took one look at it and replaced it. Part of their good service program.

The guys at Harbor Nissan in Port Charlotte off of U.S. 41 are pretty fair.
