Took me a while to build up the balls to drill holes in my roof, but so glad I did lol. My truck isn't brand new though.

 

I know a guy has the same concerns so he was looking into rare earth magnets. Regardless you will have to drill for the power wires.

 

You can find somebody to make a fabricate a mount to were it will mount in the door sill and run the wire behind the weather stripping

 

/\ this and it seems like I saw some kind of brackets that lock into the two drain channels for the mounts.

 

Just a thought.... even if you find a way to mount it there without drilling, you'll someday have a different paint tone under where it was because that spot won't be faded from the sun.

 

I have no problem doing it myself but yea permanent holes suck. Maybe i will just focus on something else at the moment. lol

 

Just a though here, but the rain gutters where my mounts sit are filled about 1/4" thick with silicone and painted from the factory so in theory if you ever wanted to go back to stock you could seal up the holes then silicone back over them and paint them.

 

I like that idea, would I be asking too much of you, to post a pic of yours mounts, and the area where they mount?

I got mine from SoCal supertrucks, but rough country makes them for a whole lot cheaper now and appear to good quality. Had they come out with their curved bar mount 3 weeks sooner I'd have got it instead lol. Solcal's run $200 I believe (got mine on sale for the 4th) and rough country's are I think $60? Only thing I like about mine is that the mounting bolt for the bar is recessed so you can't get a pair of pliers on it to steal it but honestly not worth the extra price unless the RC's were far inferior which I don't think they are.

 

My one off roof mounted light bar Brandon at Metal Worx fabbed to my spec's. Just installed it the other day and still need to wire the lights.

 

Nice I like the mount, but im a fan of the LED bar though.

 

FYI, you don't necessarily need to drill for the wires as well. I mounted a roof basket on my titan and then after the fact wanted to install a light bar. I actually just ran the wiring for the light bar right down the a-pillar and tucked it under the windshield surround. At the bottom it went under the cowl and into the engine bay to the relay. Everything looks like it was never touched. If you are drilling the mounts and have the light bar at the same time then I guess going ahead and drilling for the wiring isn't a big deal. It's like they always say, "what's one more hole?"

I have the rough country mounts with a straight bar. They are great for the price but like you've discussed you have to drill in the roof and I'm kind of over it and wanting to go another route but I have holes in my roof and I'm trying to find a way to get it off and get the holes filled. Not to thread jack but if y'all have any ideas send them my way.

 

Take the bolts out and install some set screws with lock tight and silicon. Get them short enough so they will screw down flush with the roof. Just an idea….

 

Drill the holes and get over it lol jk well worth it. I have a post on here but I thought I'd share here too.

theres a guy i follow on instagram who has Clip on mounts that mount the same way thule roof racks mount, but hes one of those D-bags that if he has something, hes the only one with it and doesnt want anyone else knowing where he got them... so... keep in mind, theyre out there somewhere, i just dont know what to search for

2004+ Nissan Titan 50" Cree Curved Bar, Bracket & Harness-2yr warranty

 

Mine is a Genssii brand 54" and it felt a lot higher quality than I expected it to. I did some bartering of other parts for the light bar so long story short I've only got about $45 into it not including the $30 wiring harness/switch. For that price, I figure if it snaps in half after 6 months it was worth the money. So far it is working great and have seen no signs of issues cosmetically or otherwise. Granted, I have only had it on the truck for a few weeks but the past week or so has been ~20 degrees out on average so the weather hasn't seemed to affect it.

 

Do you pics if the bar? Is the bar itself 54" or with the mounts 54"? Somebody here told me it would not work

 

I believe it's about 54 inches from the very outside edge of the mount platform to the other edge. True bar width is probably about 52 inches. If you were mounting directly to the roof of the titan than you are probably right. The mounting feet would probably land somewhere on the very edge on the roof. That wouldn't look too good. I have a roof basket on my titan so the light bar is just mounted to the front of that. I'll try to take some better pics of how everything is mounted today.

 

If you get the rough country mounts make sure you get a bar that is exactly 50 inches from end to end or it will not fit I had a 52 and sold it to get a 50 that fit.

i have the rough country mounts with a 52 inch, the only problem is your have to move the mounts outwards to fit a 52 inch, which wasn't a big deal to me
