Just saying bye. Letting the Titan go. It was a decent truck but thirsty! Lol just ordered a2013 F150 with the twin turbo ecoboost. Pretty stoked on that. Anyways. Great forum. Got some help along the way. Thanks for that. Good luck to you all;)

Who are you?

Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Another idiot who spends $30k+ on a truck with the excuse of saving gas.

Just say you were sick of the T and wanted something new. Don't say you got a sh!tty F150 because it gets 2-3mpg better than the T.

I think someone is butt hurt that they can't afford an ECO Boost.

Why settle for less? If you can have a truck that is every bit of what the Titan is, but better, why not go for it?

I burn roughly 1300 gallons of fuel per year in my Titan @ 15 MPG. 1300 x 3.70 = $4810.00.

If I drove an ECO Boost averaging 18 MPG I would consume about 1100 gallons per year. 1100 x 3.70 = $4070.00.

$740.00 a year is a big deal unless your rich enough to wipe your a** with $100.00 bills.

An ECO Boost would save me $7400.00 over the course of 10 years, that makes up for the slightly higher sticker price doesn't it?

To each their own, no need to be a d*ck because the OP is in a position in his life to upgrade. If you choose to keep your Titan, that's great. Don't call someone an idiot because it makes sense for them to buy a new truck.

Storm,

What are we in, 4th grade? I don't care if it hurt his or your feelings. I call it like I see it, if you don't like it, go cry to someone else.

Yeah, I have to agree sadly, MPG is not an excuse, unless you're a woman. NOBODY should buy a full-sized pickup with gas mileage in mind. I get 11mpg with mine, screw it... gotta pay to play. I could not deal with a 6-cylinder Ford pickup personally, their V8 pickups are bad enough.

Honestly though, Ecoboosts aren't that great on gas so I am curious what somebody would get with real world driving. My friend gets 19-20 in his, but he babies it constantly.

What if you work out of the truck?

Im on the road all day going from site to site, hauling loads and towing a trailer. Not everyone gets a truck to be able to haul 2 shopping carts of groceries from the store instead of just 1.

and how is 19-20 not that great?

As do I. Who really cares so much, to bash a guy for buying a niceeeee truck? it may sound like an angry swarm of bee's, but who cares? Must have a pretty frustrating home life to take it out on a stranger like that....

To each their own but I work for a company who religiously buys ford F150's as our mode of transportation for work. I have personally seen over the past 10 years enough bad apples to convince me that I no longer want a Ford. They used to have the deisel market pretty well but since the death of the 7.3L even their share of that market has been a rough road. Wish nothing but the best for the ones leaving the T behind, just giving my .02

Yeah, I traded in a 2012 5.0 Mustang GT, it spent 30+ days in the shop, had the tranny repaired 3 times, and the waterpump, head, headgasket, cams, valves and rockers all replaced at 11k miles. No...n-n-n-no more F-F-Fords.

I do wish the OP the best, just hope the trade was worth the 3-4mpg. :S

I can see both sides. I don't begrudge someone wanting something different but the rationale never makes sense, at least based on what people post. Why don't people just say that they got tired of the T and wanted something different, or something new that was different? $740 a year is insignificant when you're talking about paying another $10k for a vehicle and you're paying interest on the extra money. And that's if you kept the vehicle long enough to make your money back, which most people will not. There's almost no financial rationale for changing vehicles, especially going from a big truck to a big truck (going from a Titan to a Prius might make financial sense). And Fords have their own problems - I know, because I buy our fleet vehicles and that's what we buy. I like the F150, it is a damn nice truck, but feature to feature it's $5k + more expensive than the Titan, and that's leaving aside the diesels or the special edition vehicles. We had to have one of the diesel injector system setups repaired recently, with a bunch of injectors replaced, and labor plus parts was over $4k.

Nevertheless, I think people get sensitive about this because you don't expect to see people saying "see ya, I'm getting a better truck". Most of us think we already have the best truck for the money. If you're leaving because you bought a new truck, why not just say "hey guys, thanks for the advice, I recently traded in the truck, see you around"? Why do people feel the need to tell the other forum members how inferior their truck is compared to the new truck the poster just bought?

Anyway, for the OP: good luck with the new truck :)

I dont know what pricing is by the rest of you guys, but when I was pricing a new truck I could get a comparable f150 to the titan I was looking at for $10k less. As much as I love my titan, I dont love it that much.
