I think I am going to trade my titan for a C5 Corvette. What do you guys think about me doing this?

Not really sure what anybody here can argue about. The Corvettes are great machines but are the polar opposite of the Titan. Its not like trading the Titan in on a Dodge or Chevy truck. Other than losing a ton of money on the deal, and apparently being a little impulsive, if you want the Corvette, get it.

Go for it! I have a 2000 coupe and I love it. I've always wanted a Vette since I first saw the '63 Sting Rays. Just make sure you wave to other Vettes, it is tradition. Good luck.

Since you asked......."I think" you probably didn't need a truck to begin with, but, whatever?????????

Wait...

Yeah... if you going to trade it in, at least wait for the Z06. Even better, sell your first born... and get the 'vette and keep your Titan. At least you have something to tow the 'vette to and from the tracks where you can have *real* fun with the z06 engine :thedevil:

They are far too different to compare, but I'll give you my take.

If you are a responsible person who understands that the Corvette has its limits then it may be a good car for you. The problem I see is too many people buying outrageously fast sports cars and winding up in ditches. Don't think it's just young people who fit this scenario, my friend's father has totalled 2 C5 Vettes sliding into poles and he is a 50+year old very mature man. People like to have their fun (God knows I do), and with a sports car it's far too easy to end up in a hospital. Of course this could be said for any kind of sports car. I'm certainly not trying to sway you away from one, just giving you a fair warning that you must be sensible with one!

If I was you, and I didn't need a truck or seating for more than 2, certainly get the Corvette. There aren't many times in your life when have the opportunity to buy a car such as that, and you should jump on it at the chance. And by the way what people said above is right, for the value of your Titan you should be able to get a nice Z06 C5, which is an absolutely amazing car! My friend whose father totalled the latter two Corvettes is now driving one in dark blue with anniversary stripes... oh so gorgeous!

Totally different thing.
Truck is big, practical.
Vette is small impractical.
Truck has bad mileage, vette good(26 mpg typical)
Truck is quick, vette fast.
Truck tows and hauls, vette doesn't.
Depends what you want. I want a sports car, sedan and SUV. Oh look, I have all three. I'm selling the vette BTW, and shopping for a C6 Z06. :gunz:

I couldn't buy a regular C5 now that I've seen the C6. that car is gorgeous!!!

There are some other comeback cars that might be cooler than a vette. The newly redesigned Mustang is cool - if your a chick... uhm the Charger looks cool - I could see that car with some huge tires on the back like some of the old stock cars.

Question(s)
Why a Vette?
Are you looking for speed/performance?
Are you looking for the chick appeal?
Are you looking to get throu that mid-life crisis?
What are yo looking for? Cars are boring unless there putting out more than 500rwhp.
If your just looking for speed, get a bike.
If your looking for appeal, get a Porshe
If your looking to get thru that mid-life crisis, get some Viagra and go to Tiajuna.
Other than that, have fun!!

Geez, I need to lay off the beer...

...lol yeah, thats true, the old "two finger salute" off the steering wheel...LOL

If a Vette is what you want ...go for it. I've had two and enjoyed them.

i agree on the porsche comment, but if thats too pricy and also too pricy to mod then hell yea, get the vette if thats the type of vehicle your looking for.
