I was told Nissan said that you shouldn't tow a 5th wheel with a Titan. I was wondering why they said this and does anyone tow a 5th wheell with a Titan?

Thanks!

The front face of the Trailer has to much sq footage which makes this size of a truck unstable as a tow vehicle. Some guys here do tow a 5th wheel despite the recomendations. I personally would feel more comfortable towing a 5th wheel with a 250 or above. Did you already buy the trailer? Also if you have a Crew cab it wont fit due to the small bed. I have no doubt it has the power, I dont think it has the counter weight to really support the heaver weight,

No we don't have a trailer yet. We have been looking at toy haulers for about 5 months now and will be gewtting one after the first of the year. I was told the other day I could tow a 5th wheel. I didn't think I could, but I was told we could. We have been looking at tow behind trailers.

Here's another question. I know my Titan is rated for 9,500 lb with the big tow package. Do any of you tow that much weight with yours? If so how well does it do?

Yes, I do have a Crew cab with the short bed.

If you have a CC forget it. Do you plan on towing the full 9500 lbs. Full time? I wouldnt want to tow 9500 lbs on a regular basis. I dont have the big tow but I do tow alot up to about 8500lbs. You might want to consider staying under the 9000 mark if you can. Just keep in mind that is the MAX. towing.

No Problem Here! It really depends I guess on the size of the trailer..
With a crew cab its tight, but seen others with a Super 5th slider, guess it works, The tounge weight is 750 lbs. I installad "Airlift" good for 1500 lbs. suspetion bags to add stability, It feels very stable when towing and power is
great, and milage about 8-10 in the hills..

I think he was looking more along a larger size. BTW Nice set up. What is the weight on that trailer, 5500lbs? My best guess. He was wanting a toy hauler probably around 8000lbs with 1500 lbs more loaded I would assume.

You can safely tow a 5th wheel with any BT equipped Titan. Just make sure you use the right equiptment. Here's a nice hitch that allows towing a 5th wheel with a crew cab Titan:

Be sure you don't exceed the 1500 LB payload (You don't go by tongue weight specs for a 5th wheel), and don't go over the towing capacity of your truck. Having said that, if you plan on towing a large trailer that's close to your capacities, I'd either go with a 3/4 ton truck, or a smaller trailer. Titans will tow these things but why kill the truck over time if you don't have to. Just because Nissan says it'll tow 9400 LBS, doesn't mean I'd do it all the time. There are MANY nice TTs and Toy trailers out there that fall well within Titans specs. Enjoy!

I have a 2007 with 147k miles on it. I ball hitch towed over 13000lbs with it. Do not go over 45...ever ever ever. It had no problem towing at all but I wasn't watching it..it 60mph and almost walked myself right off the road 😅. But at 45mph..not even a struggle. Not heating..nothing. these things are beast as long as you don't let them over heat!
