I searched for a post i read amonth or so ago but someone must have deleted it (why?)

anyway the service manual says to turn on/off the entry/exit feature (those of us without the NAV) simply hold down the "set" switch for the memory for 10 seconds. 2 blinks of the light means it's on and 1 blink is off.

FYI the default is OFF. it is set as "On" from the factory, but when power is cut (disconnecting the battery) it returns to "off" postion.

I was FINALLY able to disable mine!

I saw this in the shop manual also, but I could not get it to change....until tonight! One key step that I did not find, is that unlike when you enter the settings with the ignition on, this step MUST be performed with the ignition off. I accidentally stumbled upn this by trying it with no key in the ignition, and after about 12 seconds, it blinked as described.

Because this is performed with the seat in the back position, the next time you turn on the ignition, you will need to reselect your seat memory to return to the driving position, but both memories are still stored as before.

Re: I was FINALLY able to disable mine!

Thanks daschtick, your tip worked like a charm! saved me a dealer visit and they wanted $69 to look at the problem and hook it up to a machine to turn it off!! Worse, they suggested i should unhook the battery and that should apparently solve the problem.

thanks again.

mine came in the "on" setting also, and i had reason to disconnect the battery. when i reconnected, it was still in the "on" mode because all i had to do was reset my seat to memory. i never had to mess with the entry/exit part of it. i like the entry exit myself.

Glad to have found this thread. I've been searching for a way to deactivate the auto entry/exit feature on my non-nav LE, and the owner's manual only tells us to "see dealer". Well I asked my dealer to deactivate it, and they told me (no surprise here) that they couldn't do it -- the feature was permanent!! Total BS. So I'm glad to have found the information I was looking for here.

Turned mine off the day I bought it.

1. Worried about unnecessary wear on the motor
2. It would scoot back into the baby seat

My mom had an M45 and rear legroom on those are cramped enough, if a taller driver got in it would squeeze the back passengers when the driver seat automatically scooted back.

I know this is an old thread, but figured I could help answer this question for future owners. My 2013 has Nav, but there is no option in the settings to disable the entry/exit function (I tried every single one).

However, the press and hold trick worked great for me. One blink from buttons 1 and 2, and the function was disabled.

Interestingly, my owners manual says:

"The entry/exit function can be adjusted or canceled. For vehicles with a navigation system, see “Vehicle electronic systems” in the “Display screen, heater, air conditioner, audio and phone systems” section of this manual."

There is no such section in the 2013 manual. Looks like Nissan has a copy/paste error from previous versions. Not sure what year the entry/exit disable option disappeared from the nav settings, but no later than 2013.

Hope that helps someone!
