get the damn silver already!!! if i and every other sympathetic titan owner sends you $5.00 will that make you get the silver one you really want, although you should get a smoke, hehe. i love silver but smoke looks soooo much better, just my opinion. i love black and i love silver so i found middle ground in smoke, sorta like the best of both worlds, having my cake and eating too, heehee.

stop debating - sell the black one for whatever and get the smoke, eh hem, i mean silver one damnit.

think of the torture you'll go through if a neighbor of yours gets a silver titan, you'll contemplate suicide if that happens and no one wants it to go that far - so go out and GET the SILVER titan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but i would be happier with a silver but i have to go to a kc from my cc to make the deal work.
John:

How long do you usually keep a vehicle? If you trade every couple of
years anyway, go ahead and trade now and enjoy it.

If you like everything else about your truck except the color, and plan
on keeping it a long time, I say paint it! I don't know how this would
affect the trucks resale value in the short term, but in a few years I
wouldn't think it would make much difference.

If you get it painted, you will have the option for any color you want,
not just the Nissan factory colors. Since the truck is fairly new, it
shouldn't need a whole lot of body prep.

I agree with many of you that like the black color when it is clean and
shiny, but the upkeep can be a challenge. My wife picked the Sedonna
color, which people seem to love or hate.

As for silver, I never had much luck with that color. The silver cars I've
had in the past never seemed to keep their paint.

I've heard that silver paint doesn't have as much pigment in it as other
colors, but I don't know if this is really true.

I wonder how a Titan would look with that new expensive paint that looks
like it changes color? I saw a new Mustang Cobra with it applied at the
factory, and the dealer added $4,000 fot it.

Whatever you decide, take your time making this decision. You have my
support and I am sure that of many others.

Good Luck, Steve

I noticed from your signature you have a truxedo cover. If you change bed sizes by going to a KC will that still fit or will you lose that too? I would spend the $2,000 on the black Titan and trick it out, or try to sell it privately so you don't lose so much with the dealer. A clean black truck looks awesome, if you can take the time to keep it that way.

IF money actually isnt a problem the why waste time on being unhappy? I got what I wanted the first time but I waited and knew beforehand what was available and what I needed. I wanted the copper but there were none in Texas. I like the red cause it friggin GORGEOUS but either one satisfied me

Go For It!!

Making the decision is worse than having the black--LISTEN TO ME-strike while the iron is hot-GO GET THE VEHICLE YOU WANT NOW-Be happy-I agree with the others who say life is too short-and worrying about a situation :teethmast is worse than having to work your *** off to recoup the $2000-a lil hard work never killed anyone but that worrying @#$% is 4 the birds---So go get your truck-OK- a bit of ADVICE---@#$% or get off the pot!!! :futwice:
I agree with ckat, go get the silver! Life is definitely too short to stress yourself and not enjoy what really makes you happy! Ironically, the 1st Titan I test drove was silver but I ended up buying the Canteen Green which is a dark color like the black. So far I'm pleased and don't have any regrets. My Z3 is silver so that is kinda why I wanted something different on the truck. If you have the money and it won't set you back too much, GET THE SILVER LE! You'll LOVE it!!

Good luck!

i want to thank all my fellow titaniers for stepping up i am truly being swayed to go get the silver but the only silver i can locate with the options i want and not a bunch of added is an se but i would be happy with a se if they would work the deal for 2000 or less. i have 5000 miles on my truck now and i AM losing a bit. i dont want the off road because to me the tires make noise and i never go off road but :imwithstu :imwithstu made i mistake and i have learned a very valuable lesson. i really let the dealer talk me into this truck and that will never happen again. any and all comments are still welcome as i will have to call around to see whats in store but thanks for everyones guidance and i hope i can get them to work a deal.

Hey John, First of all, PLEASE don't get it painted. Going from black to anything but black is a nightmare and will never be the same as new.

Second of all, I think you should get the silver! For spending this much on a truck, you should be happy. That being said, now you need to work your best deals. Just treat it as any other new vehicle purchase; You have a used vehicle and you are buying a new one. So, you want to shop around the best deal for your used one and same with buying a new one. I bet you will do the best selling your truck on your own. I'm sure people are chomping at the bit for a used Titan, especially like one with all the options you have (just make sure that black is washed prior to showing it, lol!) Also, you need to be patient. If you can't find the silver one with the options you're looking for, just order one. Yes, the wait sucks ( I know, I'm 1/2 way through the wait now!), but you'll get exactly what you want, no regrets.

If you're willing to go from a CC to a KC, and assuming your truck now is in new condition, I don't see why you shouldn't be able to pull this off for less than $1000

Good luck and keep us posted!

OK, I just had to run the numbers because I love a challenge. So, I got the invoice on what you said you have now:

"SE, CC, 4WD, Off-Road, Big Tow, Pop w/ power captain, Utility bed, Bed divider, Bed Extender"

And I get $30,991

And what you're looking for:
SE, KC, 4WD, Big Tow, Pop w/ power captain, Utility bed, Bed divider, Bed Extender
(Basically the same as what you have now, but KC and no Off-road)
And I get $28,260. So, you should be able to get a deal for invoice + $500 = $28,760

So, the bottom line is - Can you get $28,760 for the truck you have now, the answer.........YES! It would be a great deal for someone!
So, there you go. Get the color you want for no money lost.
Give it a shot.......hey, maybe you can even make a few bucks, lol :)

well thats what i thought to but every dealer ive tried without going out of state wants 2000 or more so im not sure what the deal is im taking a kc for a cc and giving up some options. all i know is after this if i cant get it to work i may be looking at a ford which thier selling at invoice and i can get a supercrew for 31000. i know :eek2: :imwithstu but the nissan dealers in my area think these things are made of gold. i like my titan but i was treated better at the ford dealer except for twin city where i bought my titan i am going to try tommorrow and if that doesnt work ill wait till year end and maybe that will be better

thanks ny titan but the dealers here and i mean all will not work like that i called several and talked to the internet sales guy and they all said were negotiating msrp not invoice. plus taxes in my area eat me up so i might be better if i traded but im not sure. thanks for running those numbers i did that today but with them sticking close to msrp i need close to 30,000 out of my truck to even consider which still isnt bad, invoice on my truck was 31,200 and msrp is 34,710

Just forget about asking for a swap deal. That's when the dealer will nail you. Just go out and do some new truck shopping. Again, be patient.......you should definitely be able to get a deal for $500 over invoice. Make sure you don't sound desperate when you're talking to these guys.

Many people (including myself) have had good luck when contacting dealers through their internet pricing inquiry.

Do you have a Carmax nearby that might would buy your current Titan and then you could buy the new one straight out? Either way you'll have to cover what you owe over what they give you. Sometimes Carmax can do a little better than dealers on a trade. I've sold 2 cars and got more both times. Just an idea.

The Dealers in your area are treating these trucks like gold because they are! In TN, people desire Nissans and are used to buying the brand instead of being a die-hard Ford, Chevy, or Dodge buyers. That is why Dealers can ask and get close to MSRP. That being the case, YOUR Titan is very marketable and very desirable as well. If the Dealer is getting close to invoice, you should be able to sell it to a third party yourself for slightly less.....you should be able to come out ok. Advertise in your paper and you will get buyers. Steer clear of the trade in.....you will only lose that way. Take the advice of the others above and buy outside of your area. I have several quotes from Dealers that sell in areas that do not have the same type of buyers that we have in TN. The buyers in their markets are the die-hard Ford/Chevy/Dodge guys and thus selling at or close to invoice happens alot.

So, net-net, sell your beautiful, low mileage, highly desirable Titan locally and then buy the silver one over the internet for a great deal outside your area......get some buddies to make a road trip to pick it up and you will be smiling in the future because of the savvy vehicle broker that you are!

THANKS MEMPHIS i went straight to the internet with my local dealer and offered 500 over invoice, without telling them who i was, and to my surprise they accepted that offer and were willing to even make a dealer trade to get what i wanted until i told them i had a trade in. i think 28000 is the most they will offer and if i sell outright i have to pay taxes again on 30000 which will be close to 1800 dollars so either way its going to cost me about 2000 even if i sell it i have to pay taxes if i trade it in i dont have to pay taxes on the amount they give me on trade in. so with that said what do you think if they offer me 28000 should i do it and be done with it or should i buy a dodge or ford :jester: . thanks for all help

money solves a lot of problems

you're in "luck" as more money will easily solve this material situation.
hey, what's a few grand between you and your truck happiness. life too short not to be satisfied. it'll still cost less than the next best thing, a GMC 2500HD 6.0L.

I'm in a similar situation, as i do not wish to wait the years for an after market e-locker for front and rear axle differential, so i'm wllling to spend $4000 to $5000 to "sell-back" myTitan ( don't forget the new sales tax) to the same Nissan dealer to purchase another Titan with the factory installed rear e-locker. when the after market e-locker is available then i'll add to the front axle. why? cause i WANT (yes, i do not "need" this) the best off-roader for my family that money can buy. for me that' improving traction on the Titan, not by installing lift kits and taller tires (i'll do that also, eventually, after installing a winch).

by the way i really like the Smoke color, but I may switch to the cooler, but way higher maintenance color: Black.

Here's what I'd do.....work the new Truck deal with the Dealer and sell your current Titan to an individual. Work into the new truck deal that you have found a buyer for your current vehicle and want to run that deal through as a trade-in (this way you only pay taxes on the difference between the vehicles). You may negotiate some terms with the dealer like you will pick up the paperwork costs plus $100 to make them happy.....just get them to throw in something like drive out tags for the new owners to make it worth their while. To the Dealer, it will be the same as if you traded it in and they found a buyer instantly....except they don't make a huge profit on it. At the same time, sell your truck to an individual.....tell them that you will be running it through your Dealer. Most people are acceptable to this...unless they are wanting to put an unrealistically low value on the title to pay less taxes......this shouldn't factor in this case because the truck you're selling is a brand new Titan that everyone knows is worth good money.

This way, you get a great deal on the new silver truck, save on taxes, and are happy.
