Hey guys need some help. I have the stock rear DVD player/media center. I am having a problem with it loading DVD's, says "invalid format" then spits the DVD out. I have tried many different DVD's, tried cleaing it, nothing. I then took it to a local audio shop. They said they could not replace it with anything they had. They also said they would have to get a whole new DVD system from Nissan, screen and all $1500!!! The other option is that the Audio store could sell me an all-in-one system ($850!!!)that would mount under the existing screen (kinda boot leg looking). Is there an after market head unit that will work with my existing stock screen setup, and does this Audio shop know it and trying to pull a fast one on me?

Please help!!!!!

Is it possible that the settings got messed up somehow?? I haven't looked at the dvd player personally, but can you change the format from ntsc to pal or whatever the european version is?? you can try that for starters. If not and you have to replace the unit, Myron and Davis make replacements for those units. They won't connect up to the Nissan harnesses but they will fit and look like factory.

titanparts1,

What do you mean when you say it wont hook to the stock harness, but will look stock? Is this just the head unit, with an adapter? the original was housed in the middle console.

The OEM use plug type connector while aftermarket use RCA type cables. So if you get a Myron and Davis you need to run RCA cables for audio/video

..... and there are workarounds that can get it working like stock. llajumpvid wrote a How-To on splicing the the RCA cables into a factory harness. The only problem has been that not all non-DVD Titans have the harness but yours definitely has it since you have the OEM DVD.

Pops, I know its been a while since you wrote this but help me out here if you can. What do you do if you have a Titan that didn't come with a DVD player but you are adding one to the center console. Or better, how do you connect the DVD player to the OEM RF HU?

Installing...
M&D212
M&D 9" LCD (rear storage compatment)

I'm just concerned about how I'm going to wire it to the back of the HU since Nissan uses those funky plugs.

Thanks,

-BW

This is what I followed for my 2005. The 2008 and newer are entirely different though and the wiring won't work on them. If you have a 2008 or newer, you'll have to use a FM Modulator or the Aux Jack instead.
