I keep wanting to devote some time to get good at photoshop, but never take the plunge.
I've watched enough tuturials to see that people can create masterpieces in like 2 minutes. It's all about knowing how to use the various tools withing the program. That program has some amazing power and complexity.

By the way for the record, my brother doesn't have photoshop. Its pretty expensive, but he's looking into getting this thing called cs4 or something where in comes with all sorts of photo editing software through the University we go to for about the same price as photoshop itself. I believe it even comes with photoshop and in design and others.

CS4 is an Adobe package that includes programs like photoshop, and some video software as well as web design suites.... pretty inclusive....
however your brother should be able to pick up a student version of the software for much less money then the MSRP on CS4 photoshop....
I understand that you simply applied the motion blur to the background as a separate layer, but how do you cut the truck from the picture so perfectly so as to get it on a different layer?Nice... Looks like he's learning about layers and a little motion blur.
