I just got a pro comp 6" lift installed on my 06 titan 4x4 off road and wanted to upgrade my tires . At this time I am running 17X9 mickey thompson classic lock wheels with 4 1/2 backspacing and 285 tires . I was wondering if I went up to 35X12.50 X 17 tires on those rims if there would be a rubbing issue .

Reading thru all of these articles there a a lot of different opinions , also I spoke with an on line off road tire and wheel retailer and they said the 35's would not fit . I know that the offset and backspacing make a huge difference , before I added the 6 " lift the mickey tompson's with the 285's rubbed by the pinch welds when making a tight turn .

I want to run a large a tire as possible but don't want any rubbing issues and would hate to get new tires and have them not work .

Anyone running the mickey thompson classic wheels and 35's !

Thanks
Tom

Here was my answer... can someone confirm my thoughts??

My wheels are Offset -6, 4.75in BS and I have minimal rubbing when wheel is turned and suspension compresses.

His wheels are Offset -12mm, 4.50" BS....

Basically, there is a 1/4" difference between mine and his. I don't think he'll have any issues.

I had to do the pinch weld mod to get mine to fit with a 9" wide wheels with 4.5BS. I also had to trim the inner lip of my bumper. I rub slightly when loaded and parking. With a little modification, they will look awesome and fit well too.
