It's not coming from the springs, it defiantly sounds like it's coming from my PRG HD Shackles  and it's driving me crazy  has anyone addressed this
NOT THE SPRINGS THE SHACKLES :ftard:

Re: PRG HD Shackles SQUEEK

i coated the entire bushings with chassis grease when i installed mine. then again my whole trucks squeeked and pops. you could really hear it from the rear when the truck goes up on the lift.
You know it also sounds like the heims on the traction bars pop too

My PRG shackles squeek....and since my Tranny line busted my T-Bar bushings are squeeking..that crap travels up the bar to the frame and sounds like it's under the cab...lol I'm gonna re-lube em tomorrow(it did it after I installed em...lubed the poly's and sprayed the heim's...noise gone..till now..lol) . I wish I could say my PRG UCA's squeek...but I aint got any ....yet. lol

I just took my prg shackles off for the third time since I have had them , because of that damn squeak and seriously greased the living sh** out of them. (with lithium hi temp grease, usually lasts bout 4 months)
While I was back there I noticed the bushings were grooved from a little tab left on the lower shackle seat, by the factory. So I pulled out the trusty dremmel with grinding ball attachment and smoothed the hell out of those
tabs. It has been a week and not a sound, hopefully that is the answer your looking for.

That traction bar issue you are refering to pisses me off too, but all I do is crawl up underneath and retorque the bolts at both ends of the bars and it works for awhile

i dont doubt it, the hiems on my arms make a ton of noise, lots of creaking. my installer said he had to "stretch" the uppers apart to get them to fit.
Your installer stretched the PRG UCA's? What did he do it with a couple of
D-9's?

I have no issues with the PRG Shackles, no squeaks or noise of any type.

yup, me neither! shackles don't squeak and did the job they were intended to do and withstand violent offroad abuse!
WOW! The guy that installed those must be really GOOD! :teethmast

d-9s? im lost. i think he put one end in and had to put a big pry bar in the arm to stretch the other side to fit.
I believe this is the D-9 he is referring to....

I've always heard that Polyurethane bushing manufacturers advise to never use a petroleum based grease for poly bushing lubrication. Instead, a silicone based synthetic water-proof grease like "Green Grease" or some type of Marine grade grease is recommended. I'm ordering the PRG shackles and the last thing I want is a damn squeak! How long did the install take?

Cguerra, good call on grinding the tabs off man. There is a DIY on one of the Titan forums that recommends doing this. It's supposed to prevent tearing up the bushings too.

My rear suspension squeaked before the PRG shackles were installed and it squeaks after the PRG shackles were installed. In my first iteration of installing the shackles I left the tabs on. Then I read up the excellent install writeup here and took it all back apart and removed the tabs and greased the heck out of everything on the schackle just to be sure. I'm pretty sure my squeak is the leaf springs themselves not the schackle. I'm sure the Mag Chloride used on the roads in the winter isn't doing me any favors.

I used marine grease on mine and have not had any squeaks yet.
