Looks great!!! how did U get it so smooth?? I,ve used heruliner on othrt things and it comes out bumpy not smooth
Thanks, it's not smooth, it's slightly textured...The Rustoleum has much less texture though than the Herculiner.

You could probably use a torch type lighter, you basically just need to melt the plastic back together on the underside.
Can you show me a picture of exactly what you had to "re-weld"? Looking at it today, I'm a little confused about what needs to re-adhere. Thanks.

I'd have to actually take my cowl back off...the rubber strip that runs along the windshield at the top of the cowl... It's attached to the upper part of the underside of the cowl. There are a couple little "tack" points that are holding it on to the cowl. Those need to be broken to remove it from the cowl. You need to melt them back together to make it stick back to the cowl.

If you take your cowl off and turn it upsidedown, you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

Alright. Thanks Bills.

has anyone thought about doin the door pillars?
I did, but I heard the surface is really rough underneath...I may try it at some point, pull the tape, sand it down and spray...

For extra man points, use a flat head screw driver, get it red hot, weld the plastic pieces back together, then brand yourself!

What about doing your mirrors Bill? Im really thinking about doing it myself.

I haven't had a need to yet, my mirrors still look new. I would though if they were a mess.

Just sprayed mine yesterday with the rustoleum bed liner and I really like how it turned out. I put 303 on it to shine it up and give it some protection! I also sprayed where the rear bumper cover thing used to be....I lost it in the desert awhile back haha...... here's a few pics to add to the collection on this thread lol

Before's of cowl:

Sweet. I decided today that I wanted to paint the cowl (tired of putting crap on it). Glad this thread came up in the search....Anyway, I think that looks amazing. Its awesome you didn't even have to sand it. I'm thinking about doing my bed rails (anyone done this?) and I wonder if it would hold up on the rubber window sill?

Yeah I think I'll try the sill. We painted mine once before, but my arm screwed up the one on my drivers side and the rest look ok, but have small cracks. I think I will bed liner them too... LOL. Just painted my exhaust twice, my driveshaft, TRIED to paint stuff in the engine bay (screwed that up horribly) and now I'll bedlines some stuff. I got the stuff just to spray on some holes in my OEM bedliner (crappiest bedliner I have ever seen come stock, bubbles and holes everywhere).

Let me know on the window sill, ive posted about doing it too. So far no one has mentioned doing it

I'm guessing the bedliner will work because it is made to stick better and it is tougher then paint. I used to smoke, so I always had my arm out the window and it screwed up my sill. Now, Gary748 is who told me about it, he painted his and his look OEM like they are from a brand new 2011 Titan LOL. I also don't think i cured mine right....But since all I have is engine enamel and Bed-liner...it looks like they will get bedlinered...I will post up if I do it
