Thought you guys might enjoy this, I've been working on putting a VK in my Z track car for awhile now, finally got it running the other night. Hopefully going to test it at the track this weekend. Made my own custom mounts, adapter plate for the 6 speed, headers, etc. I can post more if you guys are interested. Here's two photos and a quick video for now.

Post more spec's and photos please. I own a 350z as well as a titan. I am curently running a vortech supercharger on the z putting down 455 rwhp/400rwtq. I have been entertaining the idea of doing a LS 6.0 swap but now you have made me think twice about that plan. What are you running for engine managment and what was involved with adapting the vk56 engine harness to the 350z harness? Did you fabricate the the headers your self ? How involved was it to machine the adapter plate and would you be willing to duplicate one? Here are some shot's of my z. I do all of my own fabrication and maintenance BTW.

LOL, NICE! That VK56/trans is half the size of the Z. Now let me know if you find some way to stick that VK56 into the rear of the Z. :redblob" I do miss my 350Z though.

Holy $@#! just saw the video. That thing sounds like Godzilla waking up with a hangover.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys, it's been a long road putting this together.

It's mainly a drift car, running Drift Mania Pro series in Canada. But I'm also going to be doing some hill climbs and local rallies.... maybe some ice racing as well. I also do track days with SCCA/PCA and some local smaller groups that I instruct for.

As for why I didn't put cams or port the heads in... honestly came down to cash. I literally did EMS, digital dash, custom everything in terms of engine/drivetrain, carbonetics differential, etc. I was worried about adding that much "new" stuff to the car so keeping the engine stock was something I really looked into. In the off season I'm either going to add cams and ITB's or a roots blower. Not 100% sure which. Right now I just want to DRIVE! I'm sure those of you with project cars (or trucks!) can totally understand. It's a labor of love... and hate. I'll be adding '07+ front covers to the engine for cam triggering to run full sequential and clean up the engine bay this winter. If anyone is parting out a VVT engine please let me know so I can save a few bucks! ;)

Custom headers (based on JBA's) with 4-1 Merges, not really full long tubes, but not shorties either. Custom Mid Pipe with two resonators, no X or H pipe, with HKS knock off mufflers. An odd setup for sure! Basically a 2.5" true dual setup.

Wow. I don't even know what to say, that's just a lot of work, good job man...and good luck keeping traction with the rear wheels

Thinking of feeling the vk tq in that little z is giving me a ##### well you know what I mean. Probably gonna resemble the feel of my buddy's turbo vette. Only better it's a Nissan. Wahoo. Great job man.

Dude...If you rev that at someone at a redlight I guarantee they will give you the hell no sign..That thing sounds meaner then mine! All that hardwork and time payed off for sure, well done :)

Damn dude, if you put an x-pipe in there, it will sound better than a vette I bet. Good luck on your track days. Keep us posted on what happens w/it.

I can't say enough thank you's to Mike and the guys at Innovative Tuning in Buffalo NY. They put a ton of time at the end helping me sort out small issues, and getting the car tuned. It's absolutely fantastic. I am SO pleased. Literally would not go anywhere else. Thanks again! Can runs FANTASTIC, sounds beefy, has the settings I want on it, and makes power. Two things that definitely need to be changed are the radiator is to small for the application (need a thicker core), and I need to put cams in this motor ahahha! The power dies up top, but it's to be expected. Here's a video of it doing a 4th gear pull, and riding the Pit Lane Speed limiter with Mike's foot on the floor, flicking the limiter off and just going WOT straight from the Pit Speed.

I've had a lot of turbo cars, and as dedicated track cars they are nothing but trouble. I'll probably do a custom eaton setup, with cams, my own manifold and a rear entrance blower from a Cobra so my hood will clear.

Oh yeah, hella interested. Holy crap that car sounds pissed off.

This is so very cool. I'm still waiting for someone to drop and gut a 2wd KC and make a track truck with a mated 6spd out of a Z. Not that a lot of places would let it run HPDE, because of the weight I'd guess, but it would be wicked.

This is sooo cool. Props to you and more videos please.
