i used a really sharp razor blade to trim a little bit of the plastic off the top of the clip and it helped it to slip off. also put the houseing face down and slide the reflector up towards you then prie it off (carefully of course!)

Carefully is not an understatement. We broke one tab and the actuall chrome housing on my buddies. All good though, we used epoxy on the chrome before we painted it and it looks like it never happend.

I started Mine last night and ran into a problem. Has anybody ever had the gasket only come of in chunks, basically there is allot left in there that wont come out very easily? what did you all do to get it outa there? My other light's gasket came out like a charm.

It actually seems to get worse when it is hot??? I got some goof off so we will see if that works.

Goof Off does not work by the way.......But my Dremel worked wonders.

I'm going to be taking a crack at this on my 2011, just ordered some rattle can Smoke and Night Shade...sure the wifey is going to be thrilled. Will post pic's after I'm finished anyone know if there is any changes to the process for the newer model headlights?

good luck! just take your time and be careful and you will be suprised how easy it actually is. im pretty sure the process is the same but im not sure

I haven't had any problems with mine chipping and I have not heard anyone else complain about it. The housings are not exposed to the elements so the never take any abuse

thanks alot for the how to. i did mine over the last 2 days and they turned out great. worst part was getting the stinking reflectors off without breaking anything.
On those headlights, when you paint the reflective area of the turn signal, is the light still visible or do u guys recommend leaving that alone?

Subscribed! This is on the top of my mod list! I baked my Maxima headlights and it was pretty easy, but I held off for a long time because I was scared. So anyone shying away due to fear, this write up is awesome and on point. Thanks RyBo for the write up, and helping out this "Titan newb" make my truck my own!

Ok here's a "dumb" question...do you have to remove the grill? And if so...How do you accomplish this? I tried a couple years ago and thought It was about to break, so I gave up. But the truck is going to be in the Garage Wednesday through Friday as I change the axle shaft, finish installing my airbag setup, bedlining the inside of the rear bumper, the tailgate, wiper cowl...Running electrical and a couple other things I think. But i've been wanting to do this for quite some time now, and figure it's as good of time as any! Thanks!
