Not sure why he told you he couldn't do it. I had him do the line pressure mod on mine several months ago. That's if it's the same guy which I would assume it is. Was his name Tim?

Yep that was the guy. At first he said the line pressure mod was taking something out of the tranny and blocking it off then I asked him about doing it with the tables to think its under full throttle and that's when he didn't know.
Maybe I just worded it wrong for him either way he said he will check into it when I have my tune done because I told him Uprev has been doing it for awhile now.

He's a nice guy and very helpful but he must have amnesia. When I brought it up he knew exactly what I was talking about and told me to just bring my truck in and would do it for free.

I'm considering uprev from Xact Dyno, because they are close to home later after graduation and if i get into the academy. Do they seem like they know what they are doing over there or should I get mine done elsewhere? Thanks guys.

Per Uprev on their FaceBook page:

Uprev It's not a line pressure mod. It is correcting the torque calculations. Useful for forced induction and heavily modified trucks so that you don't burn up the transmission.

his name is tim kelly, he has tuned my turbo xterra and he knows what he is doing, trust me. i built a one off turbo kit for my 05 xterra built the motor and sent the trans to level 10, had him tune it with uprev, the xterra pumped out 430 hp and 575 tq. ive been dealing with him for about 5 years, he mostly does sandcars and hondas. and he is very familiar with uprev.

Ok, to clear a few things up here.

Line pressure mod: UpRev software does not allow you to make any changes to the computer inside the AT that is actually controlling the transmission. What you can change is the "Estimated Torque Delivered" table to tell the AT computer to expect more torque than stock, and in turn it will run higher line pressure to keep the clutches from slipping under the additional power. There can also be some negative side effects, like the transmission holding a gear for too long when it should upshift because it think's the engine is still making a lot of power even though you've let off the gas. So it's a balancing act to get nice firm clutch pressure, but also maintain drivability. We actually tuned multiple Titans here on our dyno with Stillen SCs before we figured out the torque table adjustments and those transmissions held fine. 150 shots of N2O seemed to be fine as well. It wan't until we tried to tune Chris's turbo Titan (TooManyMods) that we really had to figure out the torque table. That thing spooled up so fast that it was making way too much torque way too early in the RPM range. Superchargers don't seem to have the same problem, but upping the torque tables can still be good as long as it doesn't mess with drivability too much.

Knock control with roots blower: Yes, the knock has to be disabled in the higher RPMs. The noise generated by the roots blower is so bad at high RPMs that it totally washes out the knock readings. Even if we could adjust the sensitivity (we can't yet) it wouldn't really do any good since the knock sensor stays pegged at WOT and high RPMs. All the tuner can do is disable knock feedback and pull the ignition back an extra couple of degrees in the high RPMs where the knock feedback is off to keep things safe. You'll end up with some power left on the table, but there isn't really any way around it with these noisy roots blowers. If you do end up with a tank of bad gas, the knock sensor will still pick up on the knock down low and switch into high det mode before you can get to redline at WOT, so there is still some stock ECU safety there that you won't get with the piggyback installed (the piggyback takes full control of ignition and it will always run what it was programmed to run).

As for Tim at Xact dyno, he's one of our oldest tuners and he knows the ECU inside and out very well. He probably just hasn't dealt with the torque tables much since we only added them to the software a bit over a year ago. I doubt he's reread the tuning guides since he first signed up with us like 5 years ago, but he did contact me about the inquiry, so he should be in the know on the torque stuff now.

Thanks for all your input I have spoke to Tim several times now and he is going to be doing my truck so it is good to hear good things

I told him Friday when I was there you'd be coming in. He's an awesome dude and did a great job tuning my truck both times I was in there.

I WAS THERE!!!^^^
lol...thanks for lettin me ride along paul.

haha, i was kinda feelin like sh1t. idk what my deal was all spring break, freakin sucked. It was very entertaining watching him drop your truck though hahahahaha. i was like ohhhhhh sh1iiiiiiiiiiit.

Thanks! Last time I spoke to him was about a month ago, I am sick of waiting to get everything done. I found a problem with the ft 90 TB and the s/c combination today but I am going to call steg tomorrow and see if they can make a new snout to solve my problem of the jack shaft and that huge bulge on the ls7 TB. If they can make one up with my measurements I am shipping my blower to them on Thursday when I go into work.
