So on my drive back home to Minot, I was doing about 80 MPH. The truck started acting weird and check engine light started blinking. Stopped at the nearest auto store to check it out, got a p0305 code and a p0300. Which is the #5 cylinder misfire. What do you think could cause this on an 06 flex fuel with 70k miles?

So i am finally going to get around to fix the T. I have a #5 cylinder misfire. My question is, where is each spark plug position? I tried to find a diagram through google but no luck.

I would make sure the connector plugs are tight on the coil pack first.
Next would be to remove the coil pack and the spark plug and see what the electrode on the plug looks like.
You can move the col pack from #5 to #3 and if the miss moves to #3, you have a bad coil pack.

The engine hasn't been wet has it? Water will cause coil packs to do strange things.

Pull #5 plug first and check condition.

70,000 is a little young for plug failure but is is not unheard of.

p0300 and p0305 probable cause(s) ignition system fault, fuel system fault, large vacuum leak, maf sensor fault, AF/HO2S sensor fault or engine mechanical condition this is according to wellsve.com I hope this will help

I'm throwing the same code as you, P0300, but no other code just the engine misfire detected, which leaves a plethora of issues it could be. I have the updated IPDM board but swapped ECM and fog light relay just to make sure and problem still exists. Heard a vacuum leak today after shutting it off. My next step will be to search for a leak tomorrow during daylight hours.

I was hoping mine was going to be a simple fix. I still have not got around to fixing mine, since my garage sits at around 0 degrees. Sucks to try and work out there for long periods of time. but since I have 3 vehicles its not a huge deal just yet. but I do miss my baby.
