Depends do you want to buy a Ford with fancy gauges and interior that the actual components may not be that great of quality , before someone pulls a spazz about that, lets get serious ford and Gm don't have the greatest quality parts at least on their gas trucks.. And tundra is great but i personally think thy are hanus looking while if you get a 2013 Titan that has been essentially minor tweaks throughout the years with most bugs worked out, thats up to you.. Some people dont need real fancy interior as the pro-4x does have leather etc but the newer fords do have alot nicer interiors. Gm not so much. I personally have experience with alot of Gm trucks. ive driven them at work everyday for 6 years and my father has had them. All 3500's though.but interior is junk.

I came from a 2010 frontier pro4x to 2013 titan pro4x i was surprised at the titans torque and the engine is awesome but the gas consumption is almost the same. The wife loves the huge space too. Go for it!!!!!

I'll echo what has been said, and that is the Titan is cheaper in price and is still a competitive platform. We know the Titan looks like a real underdog on paper, but that's mainly due to the fact that there has been no substantial makeover to the Titan since its inception. The drivetrain is solid and very capable and is still on par with the other newer designs. I do not feel you'll be disappointed if you got the Pro-4X. You'd have a very nice truck that will do all that you could ask of a 1/2 ton pickup for thousands less than another brand similarly equipped.

Plus, you get this web site, which contains a wealth of knowledge of the truck and a pretty tight knit community. You'll quickly find that the other truck sites are not like this one.

I just got my 12 Titan (new leftover for 12K off sticker) I had a 2010 Ram 1500, before that a 2008.5 Titan Pro4X and chevy's before that. Don't even consider the Ford... not going to list all the reasons, they're just not reliable. Chevy is also not reliable with the little parts (how the hell have they not fixed the fuel level sensor!), it won't leave you stranded though, it's just all the little ****...

It's really between the Titan and the Ram if you're looking for a new 1/2 ton (I like Tundras, but they're fat and ridiculously overpriced.) I'll be the first to admit that I love the 09-12 Rams. I want the Ramboxes more than anyone you've met and the new 13/14's with the v6 and 8speed get 19mpg city (tested over 40 hilly miles). But again, it comes down to price. Finding a Ram with Ramboxes and any halfway decent features puts you at 40K, at least around here. None of their rebates apply to you unless you're superman and are trading in a VW and a Tractor and most don't come with lockers or decent sound systems. Also, what they call a sliding rear window is basically a peep hole, why they haven't created something like what the Tundra or Titan has completely blows my mind.

With the Titan, you are getting crap MPG. That's just a fact. But you are also getting 9-13,000 dollars off and pretty much anyway you look at it, 5K less than a similarly equipped Ram and like has been posted above, pretty much all the kinks have been worked out. I'd go with the Pro-4X all day long unless you're filthy rich. Then I'd fully load a Ram.

I've scene new 2013 rams with the 8 speed advertised for 11k off sticker so I think you could get a good deal on either.

The catch about offers like that is usually it's not offered on all trim levels, with the "loaded" models being excluded the most.

Hey buddy, I just traded my 2010 tundra crew max 4x4 for a 2013 titan pro4x. I can tell you everything you need to know about comparing the two. The MAIN reason I went with the titan was price. If price is not an issue you may want the tundra. BOTH trucks are the best in reliability IMO. The tundra is bigger and also faster..stock. You can't do any mods to the tundra except headers so it's not as much fun to play with. The tunnel gauges in the 2007-2013 tundra drove me nuts. They fixed that for the new 2014 tundra but again you will pay even more for the 2014's.. Tundra also has so many nannies it drove me crazy. The handling of a tundra is not nearly as good as my Titan. Both suck gas so no real comparison there. The Titan is outdated, BUT I think it is STILL better looking then any other truck and it has been proven. I'm with you on Ford GMC Dodge.. I think they just don't have the quality you will find in a Jap truck. I was happy to buy one of the last years of this model Titan. I think it has made a huge statement and proved to be one of the best half tons for the last 9 years. Who knows what the new titan will be like and if there are a couple issues with it the first year or two. Tundra or Titan you are good to go. (tundras only look good with a lift)

Agree. Also the 14 Tundra still only has a 26 gallon fuel tank and wtf is up with the rear seats ? They sit flush on the raised floor ... got to be a harsh ride. Other than that the new tundy looks good imo, but I'll stick with my Titan, no issues (new battery cuz bought leftover 10 that sat a whole year) at all in three years !!

I've had tons of issues with my 2010, needed new shocks, UCA's, Tires, CAI, new muffler, had to replace the stock bulbs with HID's, and all the interior bulbs with LED's, had to bedline the rims and the bumpers, among a bunch of other things.......Oh wait I guess I did those things because I wanted too, and I had $8000 extra dollars that I saved on rebates. Guess I only actually had to replace the battery.

i didnt even test drive another truck before i got mine. some say thats crazy. i just knew what i wanted.

I test drove a 2012 Ecoboost Fx4 before I got mine. It was nice, but the Internet Sales Manager was a ****, so to Nissan I went. Haven't regretted that decision at all.

Same for me. Never even drove the competition. I liked everything about my T, and knew I wouldn't get as good a deal on anything else.

i have had 2 new titans and no regrets...every year at the truck pulls it re assures my decision lol...the big 3 do not impress. and i never feel my truck is outdated? this statement confuses me. I dont want a dash that has more electronics than the apollo mission....i like the looks and handling is amazing. plus with a few mods you will have more power than the rest. Plus dont forget this awesome site to help you with any issues! go get that pro!

"That's crazy". J/k

Seriously though, I test drive them all, researched for months, and still ended up in the same place. So in this case, you saved yourself a lot if time.

I'm sure you will be happy with either truck. I've had 3 titans in the last and now have a 2013 Tundra Crewmax and absolutely love it. You will get a better deal on a Titan that's for sure. So if money is an issue you will get more bang for your buck with the Titan cause I know they will not discount a brand new Tundra 10-11k. If your concerned about aftermarket support (mods) Tundras have a more support in this area then Titans. As far as leg room is concerned you can fit adults fine in both trucks front and rear seats but the Tundra has noticeably more leg room and the rear seats recline on yrs 13 and below crewmax. My Tundra stickerd for $42,700 walked out with a decent rebate(paid $36k)and great financing from toyota (1.9%). Like I said you will be happy with both you will just have to test drive them both to see how each one feels. If you have any questions feel free to ask or PM I've had both trucks and really enjoyed them.

lol me too. almost a year of looking through all the pros and cons of all the brands online. i was biased though having come from a frontier :D went to the nissan dealership to "look" and test drive the titan finally, then drove home in it.

yes, there are better trucks out there obviously. but for the money, features, moddibility, and what i wanted/needed, it was a no brainer.

How does the Tundra have more mods? Tuners? No, you have piggy back systems. You have a TRD Supercharger, but isn't that marketed by Toyota? Are there other companies making supercharger kits? Toyota has lift kits, so do we. You have headers, so do we. I think ultimatly we have more mods we can do, we just don't have a TRD Supercharger (yea, thats me being jealous). But in truth, the Toyota is an UGLY SOB. The money I saved off sticker has paid for all my mods, and will comfortably pay for the difference in MPG between the two (which is negligible).

All that being said, if they had a 5.7 Crewmax when I was looking I would've purchased it with the supercharger. I didn't want the 4.6.

Lmfao........ I guess I hit a nerve young grasshopper.

But in truth my dad can kick your dads a$$ any day.

Back on track. Again test drive both and that should make up your mind. That's the only way you will know.
