:werd: Can I just plug my iPod into the Aux hole? I need the cord; where can I get them? Is it pretty much plug and play, or do you have to have it set up a certain way. Also, how does it sound??? I hope a lot better than that crap of an iTrip I bought; biggest waste of money.

No, you need an adaptor or it will sound like ****.

I'll google the thingy you need.

Also you'll need a mini stereo plug. They sell 'em at radio shack etc.

Thats how I run mine I got the cord at wal mart for a few bucks. Sounds just as good as having a CD in there undo any bass type settings on the ipod by just doing the reset and make all your adjustments through the trucks stereo

Trust me man...this will be money well spent.

If you use your ipod with just a plug...it will sound like crap.

I tried it both ways...and I'm a cheap bastard but forked out the $$$ for the adapter.

J&R.com is a good company too...

I picked up a cable from Radio Shack for $5. Sounds great, most people with the 04 have problems with the AUX input level but for 05 and newer that problem was fix by Nissan. Don't recal the exact size but it's just like your headphone but with the same male plug on both side. The folks at RS should know the right size to get you.

Yeah, I have an 05 LE... I want to try this out. Do they make long cords so you can place your iPod in your console? I'm not going ghetto and mounting this in my ride.
It comes in difference length. I think I got the 2 feet cord.

adavis you still need the male to male adapter with that amplifier cord right?

Yes you still need a male/male mini stereo plug.

I highly recommend the belkin device...it provides a clean amplified signal and charges your ipod while it plays.

WIN WIN.

BTW yes the ITRIP is a piece of crap as is just about every FM modulator.

The only thing the Belkin really buys you is the ability to run off the truck's power system. If you're fine running off battery, just get the male-male cable. $5 is more than you should pay for these dumb things too. Radio Scrap is a rip off. I'm betting you can find them online for much less.

I've found that to match the volume level of the radio and my CD's, I have to run my Nano at about 2/3 volume when using the Aux port in my '06.

Most of the people who say it sounds good without the Belkin...haven't used the Belkin.

Also, at a certain point...you are limited by the quality of the MP3 you are playing...128bit recordings don't sound the best (even though that's the majority of my collection) but higher bit rates really let the difference shine through.

I bought three total accessories for my ipod and loved the setup:

A cup-holder Ipod mount

The belkin charger with amplified aux out.

A mini Stereo plug m/m

Total cost was like 60 bucks but made the ipod nicely integrated and sound its best. To each their own. If you just want a cheap way to play your ipod once in a while spend a few bucks on cable.[

If you want a slick setup that will look nice and sound better...spend the extra cash. You only get to spend it once so make up your own mind
