I think my stock battery is on its way out, in the past week I've had 4 slow starts & 1 no start.

Joy joy! Not much time before my trip so do I:

a) Freak out & drop everything and get a battery as soon as possible.

b) relax...change my oil on Friday and get a battery when I return the used oil.

c) meh...screw it if It dies in the middle of nowhere Kansas it's just part of driving cross country.

Great!

I would just go ahead and replace it. When the OEM battery goes, it goes! Replaced mine about 2 months ago... Showed no signs of weakness then all of the sudden went to start it and nothing. Couldn't even jump it the battery was so gone. Had the battery tested and it had 0 CCA.

when they die, they die without warning, replace it quickly, unless you like asking strangers for jumps.

Agree with Beach. You've already gotten more warning than most do.

Definitely replace it. At least you have warning signs. Mine just died on me a couple years ago. No warning signs. Probably due to the extreme heat, but still sucked.

The Sears Platinum battery has 850CCA and a four year warranty.

Bosch makes a blue battery with 710CCA and a four year warranty for less money.
Thanks, just picked up a Bosch group 34AGM, odd that it's smaller than a group 24?

Plus my install is a bit hillbilly, but IMO hillbilly & safe.

The terminals are reversed, so I did what anyone of us would do...made it fit.

$148 after core return at PepBoys, 4 year warranty.

Just checked my remote start & alarm. Works fine, pleased about that!

Was concerned I might hav to take it in to the shop where I bought it to get reset.

My windows roll up and down at normal speed again too.

...oh and I sold 2 airconditioners on the Craig for $150...pretty decent morning.

Sweet. You could of shipped the air conditioners down here. Definitely could use em.
Battery wise I always go with a duralast gold. But as long as you got a battery your set for your trip. Good luck with it.

Only warning I got before my battery died was all my gauges fluttering before start up. Then when I tried starting it the next time nothing. My current duralast gold has 4 years on it. 3 of the years have been in Phoenix heat.

Would have been glad to, but I never want to see FU*KIN packing tape ever again!

I also had very little warning. All of a sudden it was hard to start, sometimes stalled, and did some other weird stuff. I replaced the battery, everything solved.

I had to replace mine this last winter. Truck Sits all week. Go to start it on the weekend, and nothing. Happened 2 weekends in a row. Replaced with a advanced auto parts agm. Think it was about 150 after core. Couldn't find a group 24agm. Just got the 34f which has the reversed terminals.

What did you do for the reversed terminals? I'm thinking thy some kind of terminal extender must exist in web-world. Haven't looked yet.

I'm just not liking how tight my positive loom is.

The one I got was I think a 34F. The terminals are correct on that one. They are reversed on the battery. If I remember right, this is a ford thing on this battery (being opposite on the 34F). It took me a while to decide on the agm battery. After some research, and finding a good price I went with it.
