I cannot seem to find anywhere that tells the difference between the two. Any help would be nice.

I own the Platinum... It's the newest tuner they put available on the market and yes it offers custom tuning but not for Nissan vehicles! I'm not sure if they ever will offer custom tuning for our vehicles simply because the BD's features are limited with us to begin with... I'd say get the platinum if you don't live in Cali! It's the newest model! I can't tell you much difference because I've never owned the regular gas tuner but you might as well get the newest tech for your money :) get the platinum I promise you you won't regret skipping on the regular gas tuner!

Ok I should be getting mine tomorrow. The truck in my pic is not the one I'm putting it on.

It will be going on a 2006, 4x4, ffv, 2 inch front body lift, big tow, 114k miles, Stock rims with 265/70/r18 a/t coopers.

Im reading the online instructions now, since they do not have a tune for the titan do you just pick a similar truck like the tundra? Or can you completely customize it?

Also I've been reading some, but what would you make the setting?

So far I think,
87 octane
6150 rpm max
2* timing advance
0 WOT restriction

Any other settings or temperatures I need to set?
Thanks

Also what fuses need to come out during the install?

For some reason mine isn't letting me do that +2 timing advance... Hmmm... Anyways I'd stick to your truck under brand and model because a Toyota tundra's a hole different ball game! Right now I'm running under premium, +250 on idle, 145 mph max, performance throttle sensitivity, WOT restriction off, 6150 Max rpm! It's a killer on gas unless you run under a lighter throttle sensitivity and a restriction on your WOT, I saved gas from going to extreme throttle back to performance. You'll see what runs best on your truck but either way I'm running 12.7 right now instead of the 9.8 I used to run (heavy foot) ? it's worth it for a DD, and or a beginner to get the idea of tuning before upgrading to uprev! Soon after I get my loft and wheels on, next will be headers then uprev ?

As far as fuses coming out goes I haven't had the time to wire to one, right now I just have it rigged to a pod mount connected to the cpu and I flick the switch whenever I want it on and there's not really any settings you need to take, it's what you want out of your truck! And you'll see what I mean after you get it, I've changed my tune 3 times before I realized what my truck itself liked

Just find a fuse that's hot only when the truck is turned on. I'm not sure about newer models but I had mine hooked up to the passenger side 12v outlet fuse

Why would you buy this when you can buy uprev?

Sorry I said tundra because I didn't originally see the Nissan's on their website but now I do. As far as the fuses go the guy said for the Titan you don't need to remove any before installation.

Uprev cost more and for more tunes you keep paying more. I can resale this bully dog for about what I paid for it if I ever decide to go that route. Right now I waiting for my mani to crack so I can put on some headers then I might go with uprev.

Spend it once and be done. I've had hypertech, BDGT, and UpRev. Learn from people like me. Get UpRev.

If you're concerned with resale value then you're wasting your time. You won't get what you paid for it. Don't want UpRev anymore? Unpair and sell the cable. Get the most bang for your buck. Get UpRev.

Trust me i've had both. Uprev will pay for itself over and over. plus you have so many more options. If you can read you can
handle Uprev. Chips are fun at first but get Upreved it will change your world. Take it from some of us Old timers...

What's the benefit of the uprev tune? I have an 05 Titan and looking to invest a bit into making it more efficient. I just recently learned about uprev, I was previously only considering the Bully dog. I'm not looking to turn my truck into a race car, my main goal is better MPGs. I see many positive comments about uprev, but I don't see the why..what is it doing for you that BDGT is not? You say it will pay for itself over and over, please elaborate on that.

Thanks!

Well neither is going to increase mpg. Keeping you foot out of the skinny pedal is the only way to do that.

Uprev is custom. My tune on my truck is different from any other titan running uprev. In that, I'm getting the most power I can get. The BDGT is a canned tune. It's made to work on every titan in a safe manner. So you're not getting every little ounce. Uprev can adjust afrs for when you need headers after your manifolds crack. BDGT can't do that. Uprev can be changed on the fly for 3-5 maps without download and reload. BDGT can't. Uprev can have a valet or anti theft map. BDGT can't.

Only thing I liked about my BDGT was the monitoring. Uprev is leaps and bounds better. And with smart phones and the torque app, I can have that too with a cheap Bluetooth odii reader.
