i like having it day to day, but when i've got a trailer hooked up i'd like to be able to turn it off. it gets pretty annoying when i'm backing up a trailer...
Is there a way to silence the backup alarm?

There's a button on the lower left dash panel. It turns the rear sonar on and off. Just press it.

It's all good. Don't you love it? I've had mine 7 months or so for 16 k miles, and I still get the worlds biggest grin driving it! :lol:

Heh heh.. Yeah, it's a whole new animal.. The manual can be your friend. I sat in my truck reading mine for like 3 hours when I got it. And I still didn't figure out all the little nuances. That's what's good about this site. Lots of people with info! i thought mine would have a vdc off button but it doesn't... i noticed that right off.

I think that only comes if you pop for the side-curtain and rollover airbags.

huh... my gf bought an 06 xterra s model that same day and hers has one. i half expected to have one in the titan but wasn't sure.

It is available, but as Blackbeauty said, it's an option on the Titan. Called the Side Air Bag Package which also adds the VDC. I can't remember for sure, but I think sticker on it is around 1200. I didn't want to spend the $ myself, but sure hope I never get to the point of needing those side bags and/or VDC and regret not having them!!!
I didn't think to ask my insurance company if they would give a deduction for them - might have paid for itself in about 50 years...lol
