What do you have done to the motor to help it out? I had Zoomers put on one of there exuast on last week, I ordered an AEM Intake, will be having a chip burned that will give me more gains than you could ever imagine(can't say why on a public forum).
I'm sure it will pull my Ranger just fine, but thats ALOT of ware & tear on the tranny when its not really needed. I would prefer to spend some money on gears than a crap load of money on a tranny.
A friend of mine just put 35's on his 2 week old Titan and says it's bogged down prett bad.

Banks, Volant CAI, 2* advance....its quicker than stock...at least it feels it is. And she'll still bark those 35's from a stop...

If you can get them to fix the "mistake" then do it. If they cant (don’t give up easy) I wouldn't worry about it. If you were hauling massive travel trailers...or big tractor equip. I would think twice.

Your ranger should be close in weight to my boat loaded.... 1200lb hull, 4-500lb motor, 600lb trailer, 50 gal fuel ~ 600lb ( i usually travel w/o fuel), and equipment. But my last trip I had some boat issues and came home with about 40 gal in the tank. Roughly 3000 lb's.

The only thing I would suggest is make sure your trailer has brakes! That will help a lot with the puny ones they put on the titan.

Also...you have 60k on that drive train. Ditch her before then if she starts acting up.

The big tow mirrors make the truck look like some old guys truck, I'm 30 and have taste, there for they look like crap....
other way around... The big-tow mirrors look great. The non-bt mirrors look like grandpa-truck.

I just bought my 07 yesterday and I ended up going with a truck that did not come with a tow package only cause it had other parts on it that I had no use for. I tow my Ranger and flat be trailer 8-10 times a year ruffly 140 miles each way. The sales man told me that I could add a Class 3/4 reciever to the truck and it would be exactly the same as buying a truck from them with a Tow package(Salesman actually saved me $1200 buy switching trucks).
Its already prewired, has the tow button on dash(what ever that it, I have not looked into it) and came with the same gears. Did the sales man lie to me to make the sale? Or is the truck still Identical just minus the Class 3/4?

Thanks
The salesman lied. You can LEGALLY tow what the manual states. If you get in an accident and the insurance can show you were pulling more then the truck was designed for you WILL NOT BE COVERED. That is why I sold my 04 and got a 07 with tow. And it is only 450 for Tow, not 1200.

Why would you do that. The zoomers has a y pipe. The zoomers will not perform with a y pipe any better then stock with no y pipe. They gained 12 hp by changing the exhaust. You probably made it worse instead of better.

The girl I called at the dealership is the girl who calls you to ask if you are happy with your buy. I called her and told her my situation and told me that she will get back to me on Thursday. The only thing I have actually changed is the exhaust. I have take parts off, but can out those back on quickly. The exhausts is a different story, that we welded on.
I have ordered almost 3K worth of parts that should be coming in within the next 3 days. If I can't even change gears without a major headache, do I really want a Nissan? I love the truck, and am very happy with how it drives, but don't need the issues.

I bought an Crew Cab SE with 2.92 gears. I am not sure what else there is to tell.

bigjimbo-I plan on towing the Ranger in the picture below. I will be running 35's or 37's and need to regear the truck.
Just curious. If you thought you didn't need the 1200 in parts why did you get chrome wheels that you are going to take off?????????????

Previous post of a long time ago also state the BT and OR Package have heavier springs in the rear. I believe it, but have not seen OEM documentation or part numbers of the different springs.

Tow Mode button is standard on all Titans, change shift point to some degree but has no effect on tow capacity. Take out of Overdrive when towing.

If you have the OR package, yes you do have the same gears as BT does. Now add the factory hitch and don't forget you'll need a couple relays also, for the electrical system to work. All parts readily available at the dealer, or check one of our nissan dealer sponsors on the home page. Thefactory setup is a really nice one and not outrageouslly priced to add on. Factory installed is much cheaper of course.
Would you need to take it out of OD towing 2700lbs?I have the OR package.

There is no overdrive on a titan. With 2700 lbs you have nothing to worry about. If you are towing a large load then look at the button that says TOW just above your lower cup holder at the hump (center) of you truck. When you are towing push that. If you are taking a hill you can manually put the truck in a lower gear so it will not keep searching for a gear. You would want to do this down hill also to prevent using your breaks too much.

There is no overdrive on a titan.
What else would you call 5th gear?

What planet are you on???

1st: 3.827:1
2nd: 2.368:1
3rd: 1.520:1
4th: 1.000:1
5th: 0.834:1

Anything < 1.00:1 is an "over drive". So 5th gear is most definitely an over-drive.

Remember to tow less than 50 MPH for the 1st 500 miles.

Be patient and let the Titan break in. That's most likely why your friends Titan is bogged down. My Titan was really tight for the first few thousand miles. And is still tight after 15,000.

The Titans ECU compensates for the load when you tow. My Titan tows like a champ. You will see what I mean when you unhook the trailer/boat/ranger.

Ok, I'm the new guy. I just bought a 07 Titan SE with the factory tow package today. Is this what has been refered to as the "big Tow"? It has the extendable mirrors, 7 pin plug, class 4 hitch, brake controller wiring harness, 3.36:1 rear end, tranny temp gauge, HD battery. Doesn't mention anything about a tranny cooler though.
We also just bought a 25' (plus hitch length, 28'+ overall) travel trailer. That's why I got the truck. Loaded weight stated by the trailer manf is 6000. Well within the max I can tow I believe.

Am I good to go?

Am I good to go?
You sure are...All Titans have 2 trans coolers. Keep an eye on your tongue weight.

The tongue weight should not exceed 630. I have a EQ hitch as well. I know from a sway standpoint tongue is critical. I even bought a scale.

Load her down and get to towing, you will love its towing ability...Good luck and happy towing...

Yes, ALL Titans have the Trans coolers standard, including the XE. There is also an oil cooler circuit, though small. All specs can be downloaded from Nissanusa.com as a PDF. Great referance to have on hand.
I have been told there are 2 transmission coolers. One near the transmission, the other at the radiator.
