Hey guys -
I have a 2012 Titan Pro 4x King Cab. I have the itch for Bass, and need some advice. I've been doing some measurements and have a few different thoughts on what i could do, and wanted to see if anyone else had done something similar, or could point me in the right direction at least.

First of all, i REALLY like my under backseat storage. I really don't want to get rid of it. I use it all the time, and its just too important. I HAVE considered maybe taking a dremel to the drivers side (small cubby) of the storage bin, and having the single folding seat area clear underneath. I dont know if i did this though if it would compromise the integrity of the rest of the storage unit. If it would, thats a no go. I notice that the things that hold it on are on the very edges, so i think i'd have to remove one, which would probably leave the storage bin loose. If not, let me know.

From what i can see, there's really no room behind the back seat for even a small slim sub, so thats out of the question.

Which leaves the driver and passenger seats. I have the Rockford Fosgate stereo, but a new head unit installed. I'm okay with removing the stock sub. I noticed under the passenger seat there is a giant metal bracket, and on it rests a small metal box with a harness going to it. From what i read, this is the bluetooth module for the stock system. I know this disconnects the steering wheel controls if removed. Does it affect the cruise control at all? I don't use the steering wheel controls to begin with for the stereo, so i wouldn't miss them. However, if this impacts the cruise control (i doubt it does, but wanna be sure) i won't remove it.

So, with bracket/Bluetooth removed, does the passenger seat have more or less room than the drivers seat?

When the stock sub is removed, is it easy to put in a replacement? I'm looking at several all in one slim sub/amp combos. I would also consider a box/amp, but am really leaning all in one due to price and space savings.

What under seat subs have you guys used? Can anyone recommend a good combo sub/amp on Amazon? I've looked at the Rockville and SLS ones so far, they're in my budget.

So what do you guys think? whats my best options? Does anyone have dimensions for the space under the seats with the sub (drivers side) and metal bracket/box (passenger) removed?

Any and all advise/tips/recommendations would be appreciated.

Okay so after much thought and discussion with my more audio savvy brother i am considering a box under the back seat. I figure if i get one like this :

https://store.soundsolutionsaudio.c...onsaudio.com/2004-2012-nissan-titan-king-cab-and-crew-cab-truck-single-sub-box/

I can still have some storage under the passenger side. I'll probably have to remove the whole plastic storage thing but i can build my own storage compartment with the space that's left i'm sure. Has anyone done a single 12 under the back drivers seat?

I went with a $90 box for dual 10" under the back seat, super happy with it once the speakers broke in...

I believe the thing on the bracket under your passenger seat is satellite radio? But I'm not sure as I have an S model. I put amps under both seats, not all that much room under there...

If it's anything like mine then the navigation console is under the passenger seat.

As for a King Cab, don't get a 12" sub. You will be less than or very close to the required volume for the sub. Go with a 10 that has plenty of box volume, and just power the hell out of it.

You can put either an 8" or 10" sub under the front seats in a box like this... It can be made to fit your truck and to your specs. Check it out.

I might have my under the front seat box from tech12volt up for sale... Has a 2ohm Dual voice coil 8" rockford speaker installed. I went with some 10's under my rear seat.

Just throwing it out there

If you're removing the whole stock enclosure it's easy. 4 bolts to remove the seat, 3 bolts to remove the sub, 1 plug in the side of the sub. There are I think 3 plugs in the bottom of the seat.

I personally left my stock sub, wired an LOC off the wires going into the sub, and run an amp and 2 more subs under my back seat. The stock sub tends to take care of the higher frequency bass, and the two subs hit lower frequencies better.

Ended up getting the LoPro 10 inch. It's 600 rms 1200 peak for a very reasonable price. I measured everything 10x and it'll fit perfectly under the drivers seat. Planning to install Saturday. If for some reason it doesn't thump right for me.. I'll probably end up doing the custom 12s box under the back seat. I doubt it'll be necessary though. Has anyone replaced their door speakers? Are those stock 6x9s? I'm wondering if I upgraded them without changing the amp if it'd sound a lot better. I'm definitely considering replacing the 3 speakers on the dash. I don't think they're blown out but they don't sound great.

Interested in how it works out. My factory sub is starting to rattle after 10 years of fairly hard use and I haven't figured out where it's coming from. It looks like that one is just plug and play with the OEM plug, right? Or does it need OEM plug plus power?

I'm also getting a new to me vehicle for every day use/baby hauler that I may transfer my subs to so I'll need something to replace.

I changed out my stock speakers out to (4) 6.5” 3 way Rockford’s and kept the factory head unit and it made a big difference. I got them from Crutchfield very affordable. You can go the 6x9 or 6.5” they both fit. I would recommend buying the new speaker cradles the screw into the original holes where the speakers are mounted and also but the quick connects wire harness so you don’t have to cut the stock wires. Plug and play to keep it simple.
