Hey guys so my Titan was throwing a code p0335 and I replaced the sensor and it is still running like crap. I can’t figure out why any ideas? Also I do need to replace manifolds as they are in horrible condition and I’ve noticed today that I have a little gas leaking out exhaust.. why would that be? To rich? Really stumped on crankshaft sensor as it will not run right. Deleted code and came right back on. I’ve checked harness and can’t seem to find any bad spots in it either

Did you use an OEM sensor or a cheap alternative? The Titan is sensitive to cheap sensors (even known-brand from Carquest, et al) and will not function properly.

The manifolds are cracked. Expensive repair. Call Cajun B Pipes for the lasting solution.

I bought a aftermarket crankshaft sensor but I never had this issue or code until i just did a motor swap and that’s what it is throwing. I’ve been through harness and can’t seem to find any bad spots, I’m going to check the signal plate today but I doubt that is the problem. Should I replace cam sensor also? I know both sensors are very similar and I’m wondering if I have the right one

You should confirm you have the correct sensor for your motor/ECU combination. You may also have damaged the harness in the swap. A motor swap is kind of a key piece of information. Letting us know you did that and that's where the problem started would have been wise in your first post.

Yes I should have said that I did a motor swap, sorry about that. I will check the harness again and see if I can find if it is damaged. How could I tell if I have the correct sensor? What’s the difference between cam and crankshaft sensors? I ordered a crankshaft sensor but maybe it’s the wrong one? Truck will start and run fine for about 10 seconds and then starts idling like s**t and wants to stall out.

I don't know off the top of my head what the part numbers/differences are. Check your part number. My guess is, it's the non-oem sensor. But that is just a guess, and a motor swap opens up a whole different can of worms as far as parts-matching and potential problems.

Any insight as to why though? I put a motor out of same year Titan (2006) with 60k miles. Theoretically i should be able to just throw in and be ready to go I would have thought?

As long as the ECU is the correct version for that motor. There are changes to programming within model years sometimes. And any time you do a full engine swap there is a chance something is left unplugged, or a couple of vacuum lines get swapped, or something gets pinched/damaged. Hard to tell. But in your case, computer is telling you the sensor is bad. That's where I'd start. You can search the forums and find dozens of "tried a non-OEM sensor and had issues but the OEM sensor resolved it" threads.

Please help. I have a 2008 titan and last week the check engine light came on and my truck started running shitty. Idling like it wants to stall. Code was for crankshaft sensor. I bought one on Amazon, and installed it and went on a test ride and it is running the same way if not worse. Light is back on stating that sensor I just installed is bad. I see where people have said that off brand
Sensors don’t work. Where should I get the sensor from? Or what brand
Should I get. Also throwing o2 bank one code. Thanks.

I’ve posted this here before

Actual hitachi OEM cross-referenced part numbers. These are the new updated metal sensors. Rockauto has a great price on them.
*!!!! CPS0013 is the CRANKshaftsensor *!!!!
CPS 0011 is the Camshaft Sensor.

07+ Vvt has 3 camshaft sensors
04-07 non-vvt has 1.

This information is 100% accurate
