I was suprised today when I saw my tread ?(all four) as low as they were. What is the average life of the stock BFG tail tires?

Dont know bout the BFGs but I got the 18s Goodyears and theyre done at 16K...my front keeps needing air but Im holding on till the BFGs (AT KOs) come in...I order em a long time ago and they "were on their way" but never arrived and then noticed my order was canceled due to backorder...BUT thats the life at least of all the Goodyears...so wouldnt be surprised if all came out bad

Folks here are always complaining about them, but I have 26k on mine and many miles left, even the little cross lines are still on mine. A buddy of mine has the same tire and mostly highway driving he has 38k on his and they look as good as mine. All in how you rotate, balance and tire pressure and driving styles.

Wow! I'm wondering how some of you are burning through your tires at 15K... I must be getting old or something. I have the stock Goodyear's with about 22K on them and they are probably at about 50%. Stock tires are never great.... I am hoping to get another 15K out of them and replace them before next winter. Then a set of 80K Michelins should last me close to 100K when I will trade it in on a new one.

i didnt think mine would last either. they must had hit hard rubber some where because i have 23000 with alot of tread left. some tires seem to wear really fast, then when they hit halfway they quit wearing as bad.

I know a bunch of people have had complaints about the BFs. I have the GYs with ~21K on them now. I rotate them, keep them aligned, keep 'em balanced and have it all checked ~ every 7K (every synthetic oil change). I'd say I have more than 50% of the tread left.

On my old '93 Max, I had a slight pull on the car for ~20K miles. I kept taking the car back to the same place to have the alignment checked. Turns out, they weren't doing it properly, which resulted in my Yokohamas melting away 30K miles early.

I replaced my stock 17" Bridgestone Duelers @ 55,000 miles and SOLD them to a used tire guy for $50 smack-a-roos....It has lead me to believe that Bridestones' are pretty darn O.K.

I replaced my BFG ragged trails at 19,000 miles. There was barely any tread left and I had already plugged 3 tires up unto that point.

All the correct balancing, rotating and air pressure couldn't help those POS tires. I also spent a lot of time off the pavement which may explain why myself and many others got horrible mileage out of them. Actually, it was probably the worst tire I have had on a vehicle.

I replaced them with the BFG AT KO tires and now have 32,000 miles and they still look like new.

My Dad has BFG Ragged Trails on his Tundra and those tires look bad. He has about 20k miles and that truck is pampered like a lap dog. He's a big fan of Michelins. I myself am far too cheap.

Sorry to hear about that, but as in some of the relies above, members of the forum are getting pretty good mileage out of them. Like I said, at 26k mine still have the crossbars between the three major threads. Differnet driving styles and proper tire care have everything to do with it. It'a proven fact people on the forum don't like them but as for the mileage, mine are doing great.

Enjoy it while it lasts, 'The MAN' seeks out, and eventually spoils all things good. :teeth:
They have been threatning to make it tougher for years, it seems like all they care about is window tint, and cracked windsheilds. The shop I usually go to has me put the sticker on the window while he does the paperwork.

You may not think so but, all states will fail you for excessive tire wear.
I have never heard of anyone being failed in my area for anything except windsheilds, window tint, or no insurance. My old yard truck has metal belts showing on the tires, and no catalytic converter, and it still passes everytime I bring it in.

That's too funny. Guy that used to be my neighbor up in the woods runs a farm. He runs tours through it, it's on a state or national list. He must get a great tax break or maybe no taxes. Anyway it's a nice setup. He has a log cabin, lottsa land and all kinds of goofy animals running around. But like I said, everything is always in dis-array (like many farms)

I stopped by yesterday. He built a garage and has an "official state inspection" sign in the front yard. The sign is the only new looking thing on the property. It looks brand new. Well there is a smaller plate (has his license # on it) hanging under the main sign by a loop on each side. One loop is busted and there it hangs sideways. Less than a year old :upsidedow :upsidedow :upsidedow

I'm starting to wonder if the place is haunted :smoke:
