Aluminum rattle noise?

I have been experiencing, the best way tO describe it is an aluminum rattle sound under the truck. Near the engine area. It only happens at certain rpm's normally just after pulling away from stop sign. I'd say about 3k rpm. Sounds to me like a heat shield is rattling but when I got under and looked everything looke and felt normal and snug. Any thoughts?
Thanks guys!

Look at the heatshield under the drivers side area. This heatshield tends to migrate down the pipe and will start rubbing up against the O2 sensor bung hole. It will seem all tight to the hand, but will vibrate under low RPM. I got like a 2.5" hose clamp from auto store and clamped it down to the exhaust.

thats exactly where mine was...right against the secondary O2 sensor... drove me crazy. bent it back with a flat head and now 2 years with no noises. lol

Mine does it too. It is the heat shields above the b pipes. Some members buy large hose clamps and clamp them down.

Mine does this as well. I was pretty sure on mine its the front brake shields.

I'm having exact same noise. I'll check it this week. Good thread! :)

Probably a head shield, they may appear tight but one broken weld and you can get a rattle, I have used hose clamps to tighten them down, does the trick.

It was the heat shield touching the O2 sensors. Both sides. Bumped them forward so they weren't touching, BAMM, no more rattle!!!
Thank you TT! You guys rock!

Glad I could help! That sh!t was driving me nuts for almost a year before I found it. It may end up sliding down again, so look into those little hose clamps to tighten it down.

Dude! I literally just fixed mine this morning. The 3 clamps may be overkill but atleast it doesnt rattle anymore. :)
