I'm lovin' my b-pipes!! NO CODES!!! Thank's Berk!!!! :)

Got mine on today. I think I'm in love.

Sounds much deeper and got rid of the 'throaty' sound I had. Definitely hits down low. I noticed it the most in the mid though.

I still feel like my Banks is holding me back on the low end. Headers go on in about 3 weeks... I'll see if that helps.

Are you still running the Bank's 3" Y?

I payed 1/2 that for my Y-swap, actually $60 & $50 for my B-Pipes install. They had to bend more pipe for the y-swap. I personally could tell the difference & header's didn't help much down low. After i got my header's installed it still felt like it was missing something...so i did this & it helped. :)

Perfect.. Exactly what I'm looking for. I'll continue calling around and hopefully find someone to do it.

One more question... Did you lose a lot on the top end after removing the 3" y?

Yes, it's a give & take. I did lose a little top end when i swapped the 3" Y, but what i gained down low made up for it. I just got some of that top-end back w/ the Berk Tech's. Now, it feel's like the perfect balance! :)

My exhaust size break down:
Header Runner's- 1.75"
Header Collector's- 2.25"
B-Pipes- 2.25"
Y-Pipe- 2.25"-3"
Muffler- 3"

I have a hot/electrical type smell that seems to be coming from the passenger side. It's odd, when I'm outside the truck it almost smells like it is coming from the passenger side BT mirror. I got underneath and checked everything out and it looks good. Wires are OK, though I'm a little uncomfortable with how close the O2 wire is to the front drive shaft. I retorqued the bolts on the b-pipes as they had loosened a bit. Maybe I overdid the Permatex Anti-sieze dope on the threads? I noticed that the stuff dribbled down the flange. I put it on all the bolts as well as the O2 sensors. I also put the Permatex copper RTV (good to 700°) on each side of all gaskets. Oh, and both b-pipes were sprayed with VHT 1200° paint. I'm hoping its just the paint curing in the heat.

If anyone has pictures of how they secured the driver side O2 wires I would like to see how you did it.

That's going to be a tough one. Not sure if there will be enough light. However, I just removed the green harness from the bracket. After ensuring enough length for the O2 sensor, I zipped the wire harness to another bracket with an open hole. It keeps the O2 harness from dropping down and contacting the front drive shaft.

I'll try and update tomorrow with a pic.

This is exactly what I did. Should be fine this way.

I'll take a pic tomorrow if I remember.

I really wanna get that 2.25" in there... I'm just scared to lose that top end.

I need some convincing lol! Maybe the headers will take care of the mid-top and I can put that 2.25" y in there.

You could aways do a pipe combo... Keep the pre-cat pipes 2", with 2" in/out cats, and then change the aft-cat pipes to 2.25"... Best of both, still have back pressure from the 2" pipes and cats, but also better after cat flow... Mine are 2.25" before cat, and 2.5" after cats... no track times yet but it sure feels good and has a lot less strain getting up and going...

HRTKD, Zip tie it to other harness on tranny/transfer then drill a small hole into the heat shield above the O2 bung and zip tie the harness up there bro... Keeps it up and away from the drive shaft... ;)
I did use the bracket that is aft of the one the harness was on and used 3 zip ties to keep it up there. I didn't think to put a hole in the heat shield. I'll see what I can do about that.

Yea, i zip-tied mine to my auz. trans. ground wire that goes to the underside of the cab.

The odd smell is less pronounced today. So I'm leaning towards the paint is curing.

Well I've got DT LT's, Berk b-pipes, Banks cat back.

The only thing I can really do is change the y-pipe. Once I find a place I'm definitely going to get the 2.25" y.

Have you thought about doing an X pipe and running true duals? That's what I'm leaning towards doing when I redo my system later this summer... been under my T and thinking if I relocate my gas tank (custom tank) into the bed behind the cab, I possibly get a center mount X then mount mufflers further up pipe, and have the exits in front of my wheel wells... Lotta brainstorming going on here...

Had my dealership hook up my pipes after they fixed my cracked flywheel (which needed to cut my exhaust to get to it). so besides my truck being REALLY loud and raspy, i think they are gonna be sounding really good after my exhaust guy hooks them back up for good tomorrow morning. The gaskets were leaking, but hopefully the rtv stuff stays put and keeps them sealed, if not, i'll add more gaskets to it. Once i get back to tucson sunday night i'll post the before and after videos to hear the progress.

Good to hear!!!
