Bully Dog?

I'm about to purchase the bully dog power pup for my 07 4x4 CC and I'm not sure what settings I should change. I want to run it with the regular setting and not the premium. Any recommendations on what to modify or any of you out there with the regular set up that can chime in on what settings to adjust and how much to adjust? I would appreciate any input thanks.

Running Regular tune with 2* timing advance and WOT removed. Adjusted down the idle to compensate for the 2* advance and keep the stock idle rpm.
Since you are 4 x 4, you already have WOT @ ~14 mph, so you won't notice a big difference from that change.

Thanks for the input guys. If I do the 2* timing advance can I still use regular fuel or do I have to use premium fuel? I was under the impression that I had to use premium if I did the 2* timing advance. Thanks again.

Nope, should be OK on Regular. Do a search here on "advance" and you will find a wealth of reading !!

Mine now leaves a couple dollar bills worth of rubber, but because of the ABLS even with WOT restriction removed it just doesn't do it. ABLS ends up stopping the tire that's spinning and I end up taking off like a bat. Not that it's a bad thing to save on rubber!

If the ABLS was the limiting factor, then I should be seeing the SLIP light come on & that isn't happening !

I can break the tire loose around a corner & it spins up pretty good till the ABLS cuts in, just not in a straight line.

That is probably true. Well there's a few more things on my truck regarding laying rubber. 1) I have a 300lb topper that sits on the rear end. 2) I have the non-big-tow package so my gearing is longer. 3) I have a CC 4x4 that, on the last time I went to the dump scales, weighed just shy of 3 tons. 4) I put Hellwig Traction Springs on my rear axle to get rid of axle wrap. After I got my 2* advance and put my AEM CAI on i had serious wheel hop!

My 4x4 had wot restriction but would still spin a little till abls kicked in. Now since the bd premium tune my abls and 325-60 tires dont stand a chance.

Had the regular tune for a while, about 3 weeks. After running the premium i will never go back.

You know you have an LE which has ABLS and VDC. Try punching it with VDC off.

I know it has the ABLS (std on all LE's), but the VDC was only avail on the 4x4's I believe. In any case, it's not on my truck or if it is, there is no switch.

I would say get the Superchips cortex. but if you are set on the bd, then wait for the bd GT ("Gauge Tuner") in a couple of weeks cause guys will be putting up the powerpups for sale real cheap to get their hands on the GT.

I'll keep my power pup for my wife if she decides to get into a nissan/infinity. I just hope they can have end user adjustability to the tunes. It will already offer datalogging and acceleration tests. It will be able to monitor the a/f ratio. Let me have the ability to fine tune it and still be under $400 and its a no-brainer.

I've got a 06 2WD CC with BT. I have programed mine with the regular tune, 2° advance, and WOT restriction removed. I have stock size Revos on it and it will barely spin the tires on dry pavement. The slip light comes on and ABLS takes over. My truck takes off like a scalded rat though.

even though laying lines on the road can be cool its such a kill on your launch. If you are getting good traction and only getting a chirp consider yourself lucky.

My BDPP with reg. tune, 2 degree advance and wot will not spin my tires in dry conditions. I have a 07 CC 4X4 SE big tow. Not that I need to, but if I wanted to I can't.... Also I can't fell a difference other than the truck seems to run smoother. And the truck performance wise is stock, bigger wheel and tire assembly 325/60/18 Toyo A/T.....:hi:

Yeah, a lot of folks got messed up with the wording, but I know it's disabled.
It has a lot more grunt off the line & there are no theatrics @ 40 mph now :)
