just did my first oil change on my new titan, castrol synthetic 10w30, i dont know about the titans but on my old colorado i could reset my engine oil life... can you do this on the titan and if so then how?

Not on the `04`s...Not sure about the newer ones.....My 2000 silverado had a warning light that would flash on the dash when it got to certain mileage and time to change oil....

If you have the factory Nav system, then yes. Otherwise, NO.

 

Maybe I missed that in the owners manual, but are you saying there is a warning system that alerts the driver when 7500 miles is surpassed? Is this a NAV feature only or what is this exactly?

 

Why would you want to do that?

 

its just an extra gimmick they include in the nav. system, but an otherwise stupid option in my opinion, its really not that hard to remember to change your oil occasionally.

btw, the manuals recommends 5-30

 

On my 08 se 4wd its in the dash menu. Just twist the knob to reset in the maintenance menu. You can also set it to how many miles between oil changes. You can make it different for the oil and the filter separately if you want.

 

same with my 2011. I have lifetime free oil changes and dealer reset's after each change. I like it !
