Does anyone know how to remove the grill on the 2016/2017 titan?! I was able to get the top and sides undone but the bottom of the grill is attached to the bumper somehow and for the life of me i couldn't figure it out! I think i pissed it off cause something back there sliced my finger like a scalpel...lol! Any help would be appreciated.

Upon closer inspection, the 2017 is somewhat different....i would have to have arms like a stick figure to get my hands down to disconnect the bottom tabs!

Basically, yes. They go in the grill first. When I took my grill off, those plastic clips you turn to release the grill, I tried to them pushed back in and turned. With that said, I couldn't get one of the two middle ones back on so I took it to the dealership and asked them if they could re-install it. I didn't tell them I took off, just simply asked if they could put the missing clip back in. After a few minutes, they came back and said that they can't just order the clip, they have to order the whole grill because those clips are part of the grill. They basically attach to the grill FIRST, then you push the whole grill into place. They actually ordered a whole knew grill and put it on because of that one clip.

If it's anything like the gen 1's yeah you just pull the clips out of the truck after you've removed the bumper. Pinch the tabs and remove. Place them back in the grille (there should be a slot for them) then push the grille back onto the truck. I've removed/replaced my grille so many times I'm down to just the 7 on the top and bottom. The 4 side clips I've broken them all and don't feel like replacing.

So I removed my grill today thanks to a few posts. I sprayed the chrome with black plastic dip. I could have done a better job applying the spray. But it looks good enough. And it's a product that can be removed easy. So about the grill removal and installation. There are 6 clips on top and 2 on each side for a total of 10.. that you rotate 90 degrees ..........there are also 6 clips. ( or tabs) that you have to pop out at the bottom of the grill. See photos of the truck and you will notice the slots. You will have to push the blade shaped part of the grill out of the slot on the truck... then it just comes out. To install just pull the clips from your truck. Install then into the grill, and push it back in. Pretty simple. The only curve ball was the Lower tabs/ clips. The second front the left was tough to reach. Also I found replacement clips online easy..... so no. You do not need to replace the grill just because a clip broke.

Thanks for those pictures. Helps a lot.

Is there any risk of scratching the painted portion of the bumper fascia under the grill? On my Ram I would always put down masking tape on that fascia to prevent scratches. It was almost impossible to pull that grill off without scratching the fascia otherwise.

Might be a good idea on these Titans too.

There are a million places to get the grill clips... eBay is one place. But there are others as well.

I’ve read all of these posts and while helpful, can anyone tell me, specifically how/what type of tool you used to free/release those dang bottom clips, specifically the middle 4? I read the link above to the TREXBILLET instructions and this is the best they give:

6) With the Grille Structure somewhat loose, you will need to identify and pull free a number of tab fastener retaining clips that hold the bottom of the Grille Structure in place. …HOW? Haha

That, unfortunately, doesn’t help much… haha
