Front suspension squeak

Hey everyone!

I have noticed my '06 SE Titan has developed a squeak at the front suspension when traveling up and down speed bumps.

I just read that the chassis is sealed. So where do I go from there? I suspected that I just need to regrease some bushings but I guess not! :ftard:

Thanks!

Get under the truck and have someone else Push up and down on the front finders 1 side at a time and see if you can narrow it down.

is your truck lifted?

many things can contribute to this.

I would look at the usual suspect places.

Shocks- OEM? Time to change them

Springs - If the OEM shocks are still there, the shocks are toast for sure, and the springs could of taken a lil extra wear ( on the rubber boot thing that is on the springs itself )

Sway bar: Bushings could be toasted?

Not your Front end, but actually your rear leafs? The Plastic disc spacers in between the leafs could be worn out, cause that noise.

Sway Bar end links? We all know those are junk.

depending on where you live, standard corrosion?

just a few things off the top of my head.

Good luck!

Yea I was thinking pretty much all the same things dc_909 but was hoping it wouldn't be any of those. haha. The truck is not lifted and has approx 53,000 miles on the clock. would the shock absorbers wear out that fast? I have takin her four wheelin' but after I dented my oil pan on a nasty rock I have taken it much eaiser on her.

Ill ask the girlfriend to push on the truck while I search for the sound. Shes gonna have to jump lol. 5' 6" and 120 lbs lol.

My stock shocks were toast after 6k miles, I've replaced them with 5100's and those are nice, but if I could go back and spend my money a tad more wise, I would of bought some Coil Overs from Greg and been done with it.

Being tax time, I will probably use some of the return I am getting towards the truck, get a real lift rather than a leveling ;) ( mini lift from PRG )

Anyhoo, I wouldn't so much as go through and silicone everything til you find out exactly what the issue is.

Good luck to you

Get a spray can of silicone lubricant and spray all over, any and all pivot points, lower and upper control arms, just go crazy!!!! The sway bar end links are very noisy once they're worn out, get those sprayed too. You can get a spray bottle and fill it up with diesel and spray the rear axle leaf springs really good and that will clean them and quiet them. It will leave a nasty spot on your driveway, so use cardboard to absorb and then drive around while it dries off. That works for me. I have no sway bar, and my uca's have zerk fittings to be greased, but suspension gets a little squeaky after a few trips off roading or mudding.
