does anyone have pics of their wheel and tire combo that extend 3"-4" past the fender well? This would be for those of you who have a negative offset for your wheels. Planning on getting wheels with a -21 offset:4.6 BS 20x10's. Just wanted to see how it would look like. Running Toyo MT's

Keep in mind that in some areas it is illegal to have your wheels sticking out past the wheel wells without fender flares or something to prevent stuff from flying up behind you. Up here one of my friends got ticketed and had to buy some bushwacker flares in order to run his 37x13.5's with -ve offset rims on his duramax.

He's in Hawaii so that's not an issue for him. As for me, it's perfectly legal here. You can have as big of tires you want however you want as long as they fit into a street lane and your headlights and fog lights are under a specified height which I don't remember but it's pretty high.

When traveling, you're required to follow the laws of your home state so I cannot get ticketed in California unless a sign is specifically posted that they're not allowed on the specific roadway that I'm on.

Getting a safety check out here is sometimes the hardest thing to get when you have over size wheels. Thing is here in the islands, people like the wide stance. I see trucks with 3/4's of their wheels sticking out past the fender well. If worse comes to worse when trying to get a safety check, then I'll just put my stocks back on and once it passes then put my wider wheels back on.

That means you must have a less negative offset or a zero to positive offset which is why your wheels and tires don't stick out more than an inch even though you are running 305's. Thats the nice thing about running A/T's. You can go bigger without having to worry about rubbing as with M/T's rubbing is a big issue especially when your running 35's and up. Thanks for the pics:bump:

I don't think Reals even FIT on titans tbh, never seen one, the best one I saw was cuppo tundras on a 6"ish lift wit 33 or 35" boggers iirc stretched on 20" wide Reals fukin thing looks like a tank, got one black one and one dark grey one, the gray one went oahu from what I heard... never see da black on in long time. notice, they all have plates, and the orange one is getting some tickets iirc the story LOL

I see quite a few locally like this one... DRIVING down the road lol, yeah, we do get tickets here and harassed..

39"s on 15x20"s, looks like chevy full sized axles, not sure, could be someting else...

How's the situation on the other islands with the huge tires. Here on Kauai, they're cracking down hard. Some guy ran over a chick sunbathing (it even was his friend's family he was driving over to check out), whithout even seeing her. It became a big deal because it was a Fronty runnin something like 38s". After that guys were getting slapped with $2000 tickets.

It's actually pretty sad. You see so many of these jacked up trucks for sale now. Lots of Reals w/ Boggers being sold also. Those that kept their trucks had to put their stockers back on. Nothing like a 12" lifted full size Mega Cab with stockers running down the road.

Yup, I've traveled all around the States and the World. Nothing like the jacked up Tacos on the islands.:)

All around the state they stay cracking down. makes me wonder though cause get chokes guys running no flares and wide rims and tires. Its either you know someone or put the stocks back on, get the safety, then put the wheels back on. I live in the country so not too bad. In the city is a different story. Tint, exhaust, sounds etc. all getting tickets. Getting RECON don't even help. :spam:

Yup, I guess it's everywhere. I was just wondering if changing out to the stockers will help you get a safety. I know the Nissan dealership over here is selling a Fronty with a 6" lift on it, and they said it barley meets the bottom fender to ground height to get a safety sticker. I wanted to slap on a 6" lift, but would hate to have a problem getting a safety sticker. My buddy who usually gives my safety checks said that they are really cracking down on the shops (tint, lift, tires, etc.). It doesn't seem like they are going after all the modified ricers runnin around the streets though.

I just got back home earlier today from Kauai (3-days), Oahu (1-day), and Kona (4-days) and just want to tell you guys you have the most beautiful state I've ever visited and the very best waters that I've snokeled in. Heck, my wife can't swim and I still somehow managed to get her out snorkeling with me. Kauai and the Big Island were our favorites that we visited. All folks we ran across were super nice and friendly. I did see quite a few lifted trucks for sale on Kauai and wondered what the deal is. I rented a Jeep Wrangler in Kona that came in very useful for Kayak hauling and visiting tough to get to places, I just wished it had more ground clearance. :D Tacos with a couple of F-250's were mostly what I saw there lifted, but at least they looked super nice. :(

Dang you should have told me you were going to the Big Island, that is my home. Most people their run with Taco's and F-250's. My bro has a silver lifted F-250. You pass through Waimea? Thats my hometown. Nice place but prices here are CRAZY especially GAS. You probably know that now. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Now we are getting hit with rain from the approaching storm. :)

Aloha Pops Im glad you enjoyed our islands here in the middle of the Pacific. HB96743 I say do what you want with your truck but just be prepared to get harassed by those cops. I was just on the H-1 and saw a highly lifted chevy tahoe with very wide rims and huge tires, not to mention the limo tint. The officer was, I believe, writing out a ticket while checking on his recon. You will need some fender flares to cover up. Sad but true. And yes, safety checks will be harder to get. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I hear it all the time and yet see peps running on H-1, H-2 and H-3 with large wheel/Tire combos with lift. Maybe I'll just keep my 17x9's and run a larger tire size 35's at the most with a 4-5" lift. Right now got some PWM rubbing going on with the wheels cause of the -12 offset on a 2" daystar spacer while running 33x11.5 M/T's. 12.5's are the widest that I plan to go. If its too wide then Ill just put my stocks back on to get the safety and then put the wheels back on :spam:

Heres one with the same offset your talking about + 1.5 wheel spacers. showing the diiference between a mounted 37 13.50 20 ProComp and an un-mounted 38 15.50 20.

is it really going to stick out that far with a 12.5 toyo M/T tire? I know it is an inch shorter than your mounted 13.5. Why did you need the 1.5" spacer? Was it too close to the strut or something or did you want it to stick out more? Just thinking about cops and them harassing me especially if I don't have flares. looks like half the tire is sticking out. I love the wide stance and especially the meet on those KUMHO's. Hard to get those out here in Hawaii especially with the ridiculous shipping prices we gotta pay.

#33 ·
which do you prefer?

TOYO OC M/T's or KUMHO M/T's? whats the difference?

#34 ·
I just run the spacers cause the looks! But once I got the Bushwackers the wheels still stuck out about 1.5" past them and they rubbed BAD so I had to take em off.

I like them both my Toyos ran smoother and did better off road, but the tread and the price of the Kumhos is why I tried them. They get the job done on and off road but I would say if you have the money get the Toyos. Don't get me wrong my Kumhos are the next choice on my list as a close second rate they're not too loud or rough and so far they seem to wear normal not like many ppl think for being an MT should get some pretty god life outta these!
