As many of you have noticed I have Nismo Headers in my signature. I did not realize that there was such an interest in these headers, however I will try my best to provide all the information I can. I have a set of prototpe headers fitted on my truck currently for long term testing. I recieved them from a friend who works for Nismo. I can say that the headers are the long, equal length 4-1 tubular style headers. Also, they have very thick flanges and are machine tig welded. The version that I have are ceramic coated. I will try to take some pictures as soon as I get back from vacation (the camera is packed).

As far as when they will be released? I can not say as to when or even if they will be released however if and when they do decide to sell these I will post the date they should be available.

Lastly, I am sure you all want to know power figures. I was fortunate enough to dyno my truck before and after the header install and I graphed the data in Excel. I need to talk with my friend at Nismo however before I post any dyno information because I am not sure if they want that data released yet. All I can say is WOW! :D They make huge power gains, I am sure a large portion of it comes from the removal of the two cats but you can really feal it. They are also way louder and give the truck a mean raspy sound similar to one found on a GT race car! When you get on it, people check you out because there are not too many vehicles that sound this mean on the road!

I will keep everyone updated as soon as I find out more info. Talk to you soon.

Ahhhh, you suck! I'm jealous! Of course they would never pass emissions test here in the great state of NC  Please do keep us updated on these though.

how's the sound at cruising speeds compared to the stock headers? Say anywhere between 65 and 80.....

Pinch me, no knock the crap out of me and wake me up. I must be dreaming. This is exactly what I have been waiting for. Music to my ears. I'm sure that some quality mufflers (like Flowmaster 70's) can take the edge off of any excess decibels and still let most of that power gain through.

If you get permission to post the dyno numbers, I'll bet the full length headers show an increase over most of the power band and don't just move the band to the right and up on the top end only.

Hurry, hurry, talk NISMO into letting these things out. I'm enthusiastic. Can you tell?

???

i for one say if they dont make them and sell them, then that is BULSHI*. How hard would it be to make a new resonator section/y-pipe with new cats and then just throw in some extenders for the o2 sensors. Botta bing your done, bump the price up 300 or so.ARRRRGGGHHHH Just me venting.

This is what I've been waiting for: equal full length 4 into 1 headers!!!
But, Isn't "NISMO" a subsidiary of Nissan Corporation? I may be dead wrong but don't they do their product performance R&D "in-house?"

In any case, I'm looking forward to it's release to the general public.

Jon, sorry...i may be wrong, but i am going to call this B.S. :fart:

First of all, Nismo is not a company. They are Nissan's motorsports division simular to Ford's SVT (Special Vehicle Team) or Toyota TuRD. And if they needed a test vehicle, they would use their own. They are Nissan, they have Titans. Now if they were JBA or some outside company, then yes...they may need a tester. Why would they go through the hassle to use a friend of an employee's vehicle (that is probably still bank owned) and have that liability hanging over their heads? Plus you do live in CA, so right now you are breaking CA's emmisssion law running catless...Nissan wouldnt do that.

Show photos or post facts... :flamed:

Hmmm.....does sound fishy, but I'll hold off a while before calling BS. I'll give the guy the benefit of the doubt, for now. A few pics might put this to rest.

guys...im gonna feel like "cowshet" if he does have them... but I SERIOUSLY doubt he doing their testing. I know Nissan...they do not operate like that...none of the manufacturers do. Plus they wouldnt like the fact that he posted this here... hence the "tease" factor we all feel. He is just playin' us....teasing us.

lol, so i guess we wait for some photos.... :)

I had my second thoughts with this previous reply I made but then again, what if Montoya really has the prototype? Nismo is a huge & reputable name to drop in a documented statement. I'd buy a set of headers manufactured by them at a drop of a dime if it becomes available.

However, quite a few of you guys know how these "performance subsidiaries" (Ford-SVT. Toyota-TRD and Nissan-Nismo) operate and your rational arguments are fueling my doubts rather quickly.
