"OEM" vs. aftermarket fog lights

Ok....

i just got off the phone w/ the parts dept. at my nissan dealership and they said that you can't buy "OEM" fog lights, either it comes w/ the vehicle or not. he said there's no part # or anything for them to be able to order them separately from nissan. so i said well now i'm confused because it would appear that other nissan dealerships allow you to order them online such as courtesy nissan. his response was that courtesy nissan is selling aftermarket fogs :dunno:
so i asked what would happen if i needed replacement fogs from nissan and he said they would be $150+ EACH!

i then called courtesy nissan, told them what my nissan dealership said and asked them where they get their fog lights. the gentleman on the phone said that they do all the research, find out which is the best fit for each vehicle, and then put a kit together. so i asked where does the actual fog light assembly come from, he said nissan and then hung up on me.....

i'm not sure what to think about this cuz courtesy nissan does sell the stalk w/ the fog light switch. i'm just trying to decide if it's worth it (especially since i was hung up on) or if i should just go the ebay route.

can i hook up ebay fog lights into my pre-wired TITAN and get them to work w/ the fog light mod? keeping in mind i am very inexperienced w/ electrical :teethmast anyone have any experience w/ the quality of aftermarket (ebay) fogs?

Wow, there are some stupid/misinformed dealers out there.

right!?!? this is the same dealer that told me that my mystery clunking issue couldn't be replicated and sent me away w/ a recommendation to use 91 octane (cuz all TITANS are recommended by nissan to use 91 octane), and that the electrical clicks that i'm hearing from the driver's side door was caused by my INJEN CAI flappin in the wind! :stab:

incidentally after i brought my truck back while the clunking was happening, they conveniently told me that all TITANS did that and it was normal freeplay w/in the rear diff, and that there was an NTB cuz other people had complained about it and it was going to be fine. a month later i decide to ask for a copy of the NTB (cuz it's still happening and i'm not satisfied w/ this clunkiness) and they told me there wasn't an NTB :flame:

anyway, back to the topic. fog lights. thank you so much for the link, bbomar

thanks for the reply, dc  glad i haven't ordered the kit yet! good lookin out!! :hi:

i think i'm going to stick an aux switch to control my fogs instead of using the stalk. i've been goin back n forth about this but ultimately i want to be able to control my fogs independently from my driving/lows/highs. i know i'm making this harder for myself than it needs to be but a girl wants what a girl wants ;)
onward w/ my research... :read:
