Thinking about painting my running boards black, probably with spray in bed liner material. They are a brushed grey color now. Anybody ever do this or anything similar?

Yep, bedlined, I taped off the rubber pads and put a coat of primer over them and started bedlining. Mine are the OEM grey tube steps.

I think I used 2 cans of Rustoleum bedliner for each step, did a bunch of coats, don't put it on too thick or it will run, wait about 20-30 minutes between coats.

yep, bumpers and grill too, only difference is the wheels, bumpers and grill needed to be sanded before they were bedlined.

I did mine last summer. I lightly sanded, washed, primed, then bedlined. I used 1 can overall; should've used one can per side as I had to touchup some stone chips on them today.

Ha! They bedline anything around here that doesn't move....and if it moves, they will nail it down so it doesn't move and bedline it!

Do it, they will look good.
