Hi
I have an '07 Titan SE v8 CC and wanted to know if the gauges (instrument panel) for an infinity qx56 would fit in there.

The infinity instrument panel looks bad a$$ and i thought i read before that its just plug-n-play in the titan but cant find anything on it now.

Has anyone done this mod?? is it possible??? what is involved??:eek:ldschool

Thanks
Josh

Yes it will work, if you look hard enough there's a thread on here showing some peoples who have done it. The only thing is the Odometer will not be correct, it will show what ever mileage is in the QX cluster and not actual miles of your Titan.

so i just checked out the new qx56 on infiniti.com and it is so sweet!! totally new. wonder if that'll work, especially the new digital middle part for shifting and stuff.

i have that in mine. worth it.. i always hated the stock titan cluster. looks like something the military discarded.

it goes like this:

2004-2006? qx will fit

2004-2007 titans.

2008 are different for both models. not sure if they can be swapped between 2008s though of the 2 vehicle.

for the older years when putting it in the titan theres few things to consider

1. the 2006 Titan has an extra plug in the back. the qx cluster (2004-2005?) has no place for that so you dont plug it anywhere.
2. because of that i presume your cruise control indicators will not work. you will get the cruise light to turn on and stay on but nothing else will show. cruise will still work but you will get no dash confirmation of that.
3. VDC OFF warning light will be on. not sure if thats limited to certain titan models only
4. its a digital backlit led cluster, so some leds might flicker and fail at random. one of my voltage bars currently does that. this was a terrible issue with lexus and audi in the 90s and i see infiniti is not immune
5. the oil pressure gauge seems to be a little off. will measure ok at idle but will go all the way up at 1800rpm. not sure if it is supposed to do that.
6. transmission gauge will function! even if your titan does not have the BT package. yay?

wow great info!!!!!
did you get the dealer to change the milage to match your titan cluster or just go with what that gauge cluster had in it??
where did ya get it?? How much??
I have an 07 and i am really thinking about it!!!

What is VDC (off) is that an option that the titan has?? where is the light at in the cluster??
I see your TPMS is on too does that function correctly??

TPMS is unrelated to the cluster.

the VDC light is in the bottom left, to the right of the engine temp gauge. Depending on your steering wheel position and head height, you might never see it (i dont! like you can see in the photo)

you can change the mileage yourself by replacing cluster internals. i've done it before but this time i didnt because it is too much of a pain with this cluster design. dealer will want something like 300$ to change it for you and will take a while. asfik they have to ship the cluster off site for nissan HQ to do it...

they told me they can do it there at the dealer. thanks again for the info.
where did you get yours??

holy smokes only $70... i hope i can find a deal like that!!!!

Not to bump an old thread, but does anyone know if anything ever came of this? This looks like it would be extremely expensive but completely unique at the same time. Really looking for interior mods to do and I always seem to pick the expensive stuff.

got pics????

i havent swapped mine yet.

I know the cluster is pretty easy and cheap, but I was going for the entire dash swap. I understand it might take me a while, but then again it would be completely unique and that's worth it to me.

Pics of the Infiniti cluster or pics of the dash? I'm trying to get the 08 dash in my 07. I doubt it's a direct bolt-in but still. Why do I have such expensive habits?

wow that looks nice! the wood grain does too!! Makes the truck look much less plain. Mine looks really plain :(

#21 ·
How hard was it to switch? is there a tutorial anywhere?

#23 ·
No luck on my end finding the instrument cluster. Anybody else have any luck?

#26 ·
was it easy to mount the screen in the bezel? Where did ya get it, from the factory? price?

Thanks :)

#29 ·
Yeah the nav bezel I got it from my local dealer for $140. And it wasn that dificult to mout the screen a 7" screen will fit right in Ive read on some older post in here and most people that do this use the Clarion nav system, I went with one thats called PLENIO I got it on eBay foe $100 and its pretty nice, altho with this one u do have to cut just a little piece of plastic under the nav bezel where the screen goes Im not sure if with the Clarion youll have to do the same.

And yeah to switch the steering wheel u do have to take it out.

Cool mod for sure, but I like "real" gauges. Had an old Vette with those LED lights. They were nothing but a headache, and in that car very 80's....had the red, green and yellow/orange lights. Everything was LED...fuel, speedometer, tach, etc. Blah. A guy I work with has an 08 4x4 special package with a nice white gauge cluster. Not sure it'll fit my '07 though....

You said the trans temp gauge works on the QX dash whether or not you had that option on the titan???

If i understand correctly than there is already a temp sensor on the tranny but it's just not hooked up to the dash. So my non BT Titan could have the trans temp if i got either a BT cluster or the QX cluster without installing anything else??????
