how do we check? Is there a website with more info?

 

If you go into your local Nissan Dealer they will be able to check if your vehicle is covered by the recall. They shouldnt charge you to look this up.

Is it for the vent flap thing? I got a letter about that a while back but haven't done anything about it.

 

Not sure if its the same recall, I was told it was a new recall that came out last Saturday and my Titan was going to be the second one My local Nissan dealer has done. I would contact your local dealer and see if they can verify if its the same recall or if there is another one.

 

Yea I had a wired problem start the other day and haven't had time to check this recall out. Every once in a while my ac will quit working but the fan will blow wide open, not sure where it's blowin but it's wide open you can hear it.

My wife said we got a recall letter a little while back, maybe I should swing by the stealership and check it out. Thanks for the heads up

Mine just quit too, it seems like the switch is just not working. I won't get any air movement until the fan speed is turned up more than halfway. Also, I tried adding freon but couldn't get it to go in. truck was running,ac set to max and it just wouldn't take any in.
I also noticed my electric fan in the lower grill running alot more. I mean like turning on immediately with a cold start and 60° out. Something electrical is my guess.

 

Might not want to add R134A unless its completely out and then still you want to find the leak. By adding refrigerent to a system that doesnt need it will only flood it and cause more problems to the compressor. You might have trip an overload switch to prevent damage. Vehicle systems work like home A/C systems, its having the right amount of refrigerent in so that it can change from a gas/ vapor to a liguid to absorb the heat and then flow to the evap coil ( thats like the radiator) then the heat is released. Once its released it changes state and goes back in to your condensor coil to absorb more heat. Kind of techincal not sure if it makes any sense. Sorry.
