After market anti theft system perhaps?

 

It's possible that you popped a fuse when you reconnected the battery. Have look at the IPDM fuses first.

But also what 37L1 said... Any aftermarket starter disablers? Any toggle switches under the dash?

 

No aftermarket security system. I checked the fuses, but I'll recheck them. None of my keys have a chip its an 08 work truck model, could that be an issue?

did all 08's have chipped keys?

 

its an XE, not sure if it had a chipped key, I never had one. Without a chip, it should still turn over right? I'm getting nothing but a click from the fuse panel area in the cabin.

 

I did some searching and found that the XE does not have the immobilizer system unless it has the preferred package so unless you have that option it doesn't come with a chipped key.

 

If the key worked before it still shoild.

Take a volt meter or test light and make sure all the cables on the positive connector are getting power. Could be a fusible link

 

I would look under the drivers side dash.... Above the pedals... And look at the wiring to see if you have an aftermarket security system installed.

 

Dealer says its the BCM, they ordered the part should be here wednesday. Diagnostic, part, labor $710+tax. Not sure why the BCM would have gone bad all of a sudden.

 

Did that solve your problem? I'm experiencing a similar problem today.

 

It's possible that the connecting/disconnecting/reconnecting did it in.

 

hey the exact thing happened to me did the BCM do it?? I have replaced IPDM positive terminals and links, negative terminal and cable, battery, and still nothing. everything else works just wont crank.

 

I have a different type of problem when I disconnect my battery in my 08 Titan then hook it back up as soon as I hook the battery up the engine tries to crank it doesn't turn over and start but it cranks with the key in my hand
