I've heard a lot of poistive feedback about the Zoomers tip when it comes to reducing cabin noise, but for 130 bucks? I started looking in to this resonated tip thing and found Hooker Headers makes one also and can be purchased for $35.95(shipping included), and it works and it works good, it's like having differnet truck. So if your interested in getting rid of cabin noise they can be purchased at Summit Racing, Zoomers I got to admit you guy are making some serious cash but your busted!

Alot of companies make resonator tips, I don't think that's any secret.
I don't recall resonated tips being any secret either, but you don't have to pay 130 buck to stop cabin noise.

do they have the spiral inner arts like the zoomers?? if not then they are not as good lol

Don't ever think twice about mods that you installed on your truck. It'll drive you crazy! What's done is done. It could be a lot worse, out thousands opposed to $130. Heck, I just read this post and just bought two tips waiting to be installed. Anybody have any input on how the Zoomers will stack up against other resonator tips? I see them for even cheaper at Checkers. I'd like to believe that the R&D put into the Zoomers tips will make a bigger difference. But, they sure look purdy!

If any tip work for you that's great, my Zoomfers work for me and I'm happy.
According to many members the Zooomers tip works as advertised and that good, I tried to get Zoomers off the price(didn't happen) so as I studied resonators I came to realize there not much differnce in any of them so I took the chance on the cheaper one, and the gamble paid off. If it hadn't worked I would have changed the muffler. But now the drones gone and I have a nice chromed 3.5 inch tip.

Hi, I currently have a Bank catback, will it help me if I install this hooker tip? What model did you get? I guess it ultimately depends on what the inlet pipe diameter of the bank is, because i want it to be a direct weld on..

I think the hooker part # HOK-22011HKR will work best for me, because it has a 3 inch inlet pipe size, which is the size of my banks power, and also have a slight larger tip outlet size at 4".

What do you guys think about that?

#14 ·
be careful, you may get what you pay for, the hooker is much cheaper quality, does not look as pretty, the zoomers is heavy guage stainless steel.

You always get what you pay for.

I've had a hooker before and it lasted about 6 months, chipped, scratched and interior noise go progressively worse. Huge piece of garbage.

It's like going to Wally World and buying a $10 pair of running shoes and expecting them to compare to a set of Air Jordan's.

Buy quality once instead of junk.

Yes the Banks is 3" piping than it flare out to a 4" at the end to accomodate the "megaphone". You will need to cut this end part off to fit a 3" tip.

The tip is chrome, why would I need stainless? As for looking differnet they are both resonated(packed with fiberglass insulation) so again a resonator is a resonator. I should last several years, at least as long as I keep the truck. And the fiberglass packing will eventually go south, just like glasspack mufflers do.

The problem with chromed tips, is that they are often only chromed on the outside. I had chromed duals back when I had my Flowmaster system and in about 6 months the inside was heavily rusted, not just surface rust. I had them cut off and replaced with polished stainless because of this.

Not trying to get involved in the dispute, but you can find name brand resonator tips for much less than 130.00. You can find them in SS or Al as well. Even JC. Whitney has monza tips for less than 50.00 and borla sells theirs for in the 80's. If you know what your looking for and ask the rep at summit racing they can get you a pair of SS of their own brand for a fair price.

The reason I looked into this is that I'm planning on a Banks exhaust and if the drone gets to me, I want to have options. I have a friend waiting on a borla exhaust so who knows, if it's quite enough, I might go that way. Not looking for a race car, just a few more MPG.

I would volunteer to be the beta tester on this tip thing....but Uncle Sam has determined I'm needed in Iraq so by the 30th of next month the Titan will be garaged for the 18 months that I'll be gone.

I did the math and you will have to drive 39 KAJILLION miles to make back $ on mpg from an exhaust upgrade. Consider this: most people see mpg go down because the throaty sounds just begs for a led foot. My .02, if it did go up, it would be like .1 mpg.
